Interesting that neither UPS or USPS will no longer knock or ring the door bell if they should be delivering a package to someone's home. Used to be that they would at least alert you that something was being left on your door step. Was there ever a policy that they had to do that or was that a so called " courtesy" on the driver's behalf that they no longer want or have to do?? Does anyone out there experience the same problem?
Happy Holiday, Karen!

Appreciate PPD looking out for its citizens. Happy Holidays to all.

Both UPS and USPS knock and ring the doorbell at our house. I've had one of each in the last two days.

Dave seems to be getting better service on his block. All we can do is to be more cautious when expecting a delivery.

Get these low-life off the streets. We all work hard to earn a living, and can't even fully enjoy our earnings without the fear of being robbed. Hope they get the maximum punishment for their crimes. Unfortunately, being in California, the maximum punishment might be a slap on the wrist, finger print, and release. These low-life criminals should be punished more to deter them from doing this again!

Punishment? Holding people accountable for theft?

That is so "non-progressive" - and this is California. It's only "fair" that the state legislature immediately enact a "package equality" measure to deter future incidents like these from taking place. We need to impose a surcharge/fee/tax on all packages ordered (especially those by the "1%") to fund free ones for those who can't afford to purchase their own/feel the need to steal from others!

Folks are focussing on the mail theft.. don't forget the stolen car.. Out here.. they will probably get 2 slaps one on each arm.. All the handwork by PPD down the drain

Always the same thing, deport them, send them back to Oakland, etc. etc. This town is full of bigots. I didn't believe it before I moved here, good riddance.

Diane,
Yes i would as i stated above, i would gladly send these two kids (25 and 26 were adults last time i looked) to Honduras and take two or even more deserving Hondorian immigrants that would contribute to our society over these low lifes.

What is amazing is that anyone who suggests that people should be responsible, follow the law, use common sense and not accept all of the bs put out are now bigots, misogynists, fascist nazi etc.

This all started with package theft, why don't you put $50 on your front door and see how long that last. We have to use our common sense, if things are valuable you cannot take a chance and just have people delivered when you're not home. On next door there are full of stories like, I did not lock my car door and my laptop is gone. And then the deport comments will start piling on.

Joe,
Youre absolutely correct we need to do things to make us less attractive to criminal behavior.
That doesn't mean we accept criminal behavior or blame the victim when something happens.
The risk/reward/consequence is too imbalanced in this crime. Its a federal offense to steal mail - why is this any different? The punishment needs to be so harsh its not worth the risk - especially when difficult to catch. Deterence due to consequence needs to be high.

@PP,

I realize that you are kidding about deporting natural-born American citizens as punishment for crimes, because you probably realize that would violate the US constitution.

From package stealing to bashing Trump. What a transition. Some people are blinded by their hatred of Trump.
