The national democratic party leadership, from Schumer, Pelosi, down through local Swalwell have been front and center with the national democratic party hatred towards Trump and republicans in general, have turned their backs and allowed this intense hate from the democratic ranks, and have allowed it to continue, rather than step up to the podium and ask for calm.

Maxine Waters is again calling for harassment of Trump supporters and Republicans. Antifa is celebrated by the Left as being anti-fascist as they damage property, threaten, and attack those they don't agree with. Republicans, conservatives, and libertarians are routinely called racists, Nazis, haters, anti-immigrant, deplorables, mysogynists, and on and on. In this climate, the attack on Mr. Peters is no surprise.

How outrageous. Swalwell you are partly responsible for this. All you have done for the past 19 months is badmouth the POTUS, and Republicans. Your district will wake up and vote you out. You have done absolutely nothing to make your district a better place to live.

Christopher, I agree! Swalwell ran as a moderate, but he has turned out to be anything but. It's time for him to go before he embarrasses our district more. I will be voting for Rudy Peters.

While violence is never the answer, I am appalled at the comments thus far, not addressing at all the unconscionable behavior, language, attitude, lack of knowledge or capability, and proven LIES from POTUS himself. No one can force another human to act like this man did against Peters; therefore, this is not the doing of Swalwell or anyone other than the perpetrator. But before you point fingers, think about the whole picture and the change in climate of our nation since the 2016 election. This is the first president that I've experienced - whether he's been considered "good," "bad," or "otherwise" - who's seemed to have given permission to folks of both parties to act in violent, crude, and deplorable ways to other Americans. Let's call the Dems "weak, ugly, crying, etc." Let's back accused child molesters and encourage the stripping away of rights of women, veterans, the elderly. There will be no healing until the man at the top encourages it, and he's not trending that way.

Mike g.; perhaps you could provide some examples of "deplorables" attacking people for political reasons. According to the KTVU interview with that attacker's mother, they were working at or had come from a Democratic Party info booth at the same event. And thanks for reinforcing my comments above.

Appalled; other than the attacker yelling "F Trump", what does the President have to do with this? I don't think he was even in California a the time.

@RJ :"other than the attacker yelling "F Trump", what does the President have to do with this? I don't think he was even in California a the time."

Get a clue.

"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously, OK? Just knock the hell ... I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise, I promise." - Donald Trump, Feb. 1, 2016

""Get him out," Trump said of a protester. "Try not to hurt him. If you do, I'll defend you in court. Don't worry about it."
( On March 9, 2016, as a protester was being escorted out of a Trump rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he was sucker-punched by a Trump supporter.)

@RJ,
Offhand there was the woman protesting in Chatlottesville who was murdered by a guy in a car, he intended to kill even more people.

More locally and recently a Sihk man in Stanislaus county was badly beaten and told to go back to his own country last month.
There are other examples but those are two easy ones to think of.

You have your head in the cement if you think that Trump supporters never act in violence towards those they disagree with.

The amount of left wing democrat violence committed on Republicans is RIDICULOUS.

Have we forgotten the attempted assassination of Republicans at the baseball practice that seriously injured Rep Steve Scalise? How about the beating Senator Rand Paul took from his neighbor?

Both were committed by far-left wing democrat kooks (but I repeat myself).

The amount of protests damaging cities since Trump was elected is astonishing. Communists from the democratic party are raging everywhere and you know why, because Trump is EFFECTIVE!

You dems trashed every republican President since Reagan. You claimed all republicans hitler and you wanted war. Now you about it!

aK, nice try. Nobody is claiming that there are kooks and criminals across the political spectrum but recent events seem to lean far more towards violence from the left.

A NY Times article posted today does not tie James Fields, the driver of the car that killed the young woman in Charlottesville, to Trump. He was at a rally that turned into a riot when counter protesting morons started fighting with the original group of morons.

As far as the Sikhs who were attacked: Sahib Singh Natt of Manteca was attacked by the son of a Bay Area police chief and his thug friend. Both are teens and most likely apolitical; there is NO indication they are Trump supporters, as you claim. If you have additional information, please share it.

Surjit Singh Malhi was attacked in Stanislaus County by two teens while he was putting out campaign signs for a GOP Congressman. If they were triggered by Trump's words then they are a special kind of stupid. There is no indication their attack was politically motivated or they have any political affiliations.

Give it another try but, frankly, I'm already bored with the false information and "what abouts" that you guys are peddling. Your arguments are emotional rather than based on facts. The personal insults are a big giveaway that you have nothing. The left is instigating violence and in the case of Rudy Peters, as far as I have seen, only Eric Swalwell has condemned the attack. This hasn't even been reported on national news.

Bye bye.

No one on the Left, no Democrat or Liberal have come out against or condemned the actions of this latest attack, or on the actions of Antifa (oxymoron), or Maxine Waters hateful rhetoric. Even Hollywood has gotten into the act by using hateful and violent language directed at President Trump. These acts and rhetorical spewing are a product of a people and a party that failed to keep power, particularly when they felt the ‘fix’ was in. I fear it will increase as more and more details come out and expose President Obama as central to this coup, and as more investigations begin targeting all those Democrats that were a part of the most devious plot in American history.

Pretty hard for Trump supporters to try to convince people that Trump is being unfairly treated when pretty much the whole country knows that he is a habitual liar, an unrivaled narcissist, shockingly immature, extremely self-centered and petty, totally incompetent, and has the attention span of a small chipmunk. Oh, and here’s a pretty stunning fact: about half the country believes that Trump should be impeached.

Of all the American billionaire businessmen in the country, this is the best that the Republican Party could find?

People need to stop inferring and talking for, what they believe, ALL the people think. You missed that boat with the election of Trump. Hate him, love, like him, there was a revolution in this country exhibited by his overcoming all the odds and getting elected. And stop with crying that the election was stolen or that Hillary won by the popular vote. Nietzsche said that ‘a man’s worth was determined by how much truth he could tolerate.’ It’s time to wake up and take notice to what has occurred in this country by people in government who thought we elected them to run this country, specifically those within the FBI, DOJ, and CIA. The truth is growing: what is your worth?

What is Trump’s worth?

“Trump falsely claims nearly 3,000 Americans in Puerto Rico 'did not die'”

Donald Trump: “"3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico.”

Donald Trump: “"This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!"”

Doug/SHale,

It's not really hard to understand the cause of the deaths in PR.

There are those deaths attributable to the actual natural disaster as it is happening, ex., not leaving your domicile after being told to evacuate, and eventually drowning due to storm surge or getting whacked by flying debris; there are deaths caused by the after effects of the hurricane ex., electricity is out and the stop lights don't work and people start getting into crashes or hospitals don't have additional power sources and people start dying due to lack of critical care units; and finally there are normal death rate occurrences, ex., old age, sickness, falling off a ladder...etc.

Since the first two examples ALWAYS happen during and after a hurricane, there is NO WAY that these are the fault of Trump. The response of the administration was timely and the supplies we gave were basically unlimited. IT is not Trumps fault that PR cannot take care of its own electricity infrastructure. It is not Trumps fault that PR cannot even distribute drinking water to its people in the midst of an emergency.

The deaths are singularly attributable to the corrupt politician - MOSTLY DEMOCRATS - of PUERTO RICO.

I remember Katrina. I remember how Bush was pilloried for that disaster even though it eventually came out that it was in fact the DEMOCRAT Governor of Louisiana and DEMOCRAT Mayor of New Orleans who were at fault for the slow response. Notice how Mississippi, equally hit hard, never had the problems that they had and you know why? Because leadership there was Republican and prepared.

Notice how the democrats have to bring up PR just before this election? They must know something about the recent polling before November and they're throwing everything into the smear bucket against Trump.

They're scared, and we know it.

Wait until Trump declassifies all FISA warrants and related information regarding the FBI/DOJ/State departments.

You 'ain't seen nothing yet.

Winning and liberal tears.

@DKHSK :"Doug/SHale, It's not really hard to understand the cause of the deaths in PR."

No, Dan. You missed the point. The matter raised here was not the assignment of blame for the deaths. That's a separate topic. The matter raised here is the fact that TRUMP DENIES THAT THE 3000 DEATHS OF AMERICANS IN PUERTO RICO DUE TO HURRICANE MARIA EVEN HAPPENED (!!!).

From your post, you sound like you at least accept the fact that large number of deaths did occur in Puerto Rico due to Maria. Good for you. You're still in touch with reality. But that places you at odds with Donald Trump who, from his twitter posts, seems to believe that there were less than about 2 dozen deaths there due to Maria and that reports of around 3000 deaths was "done by the Democrats". This is a President who lives in an alternate reality of his own imagination.

Doug,

I'm not quibbling about the deaths. I'm sick of the deaths (any death, really) being politicized by the democrats.

EVERYTHING is being politicized by you guys. Look at the frickin' NFL. Your side, through idiots like the former quarterback have taken up a cause that has ruined traditional Sunday viewing. And why? Because none of you can look at simple statistics and realize that what is being protested, isn't true AT ALL.

It's ALL POLITICS ALL THE TIME.

Your side, the DEMOCRATS, have attempted assassinations on the republicans, hounded republicans out of public establishments, and generally screamed in our faces.

And for what? Because Trump, a Republican, beat a corrupt Democrat.

Guess what, keep getting more shrill. Already the makeup of the Judiciary is changing and there is no end in sight. When Ruth Bader Ginsberg kicks the bucket, we'll have the supreme court locked up for 30 YEARS! and the district courts are already changing as we speak.

Soon, with a little luck we'll hold both houses of congress and start real reform. And finally, when the goods are dropped on the illegal spying on the Trump campaign, the bureaucracy and prior administration will be brought to justice.

The economy is ROARING because of the new trade agreements, the stock market is flying, black and hispanic unemployment at there lowest point EVER, and generally the mood of the country is at its highest point in decades, yet here we are, discussing who's at fault for a natural disaster over 1 year ago.

So keep it up...keep biting at our ankles. It just makes us go harder and treat you with even more contempt and disdain then you would otherwise deserve.

Winning.

Uh, oh, DKHSK. Looks like most people think that Trump is unfit for office even though the economy is surging. Unbelievable! How is that even possible? In the words of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, it’s like “We’re in Crazyland!”.

“Two new polls show President Donald Trump's job approval rating has fallen below 40 percent – including one that shows a majority believe he is unfit for the office – as the beleaguered president defends against reports of a White House in chaos, even as the American economy surges.”

“A CNN poll released Monday found Trump's approval had dropped to 36 percent, down from 42 percent in August. And the same day, a poll from Quinnipiac University found Trump's approval at 38 percent, down from 41 percent the month before.”

“The Quinnipiac poll also found that 55 percent of Americans believe Trump is not fit to serve as president, while 41 percent said he is capable. Sixty-five percent said the president is not level-headed and 42 percent said he is not mentally stable.”

As a rule, no. Occasionally I'll check in but I'm not persuaded by his marketing, only his results. He's saying everything to keep YOU off balance and away from his real agenda.

Want proof? Tell me about what's happened/happening at the FBI and DoJ with regards to FISA abuse?

99% of the public has no idea whats going on behind closed doors and that is exactly the way Trump wants it. For the first time in recent memory, a President and his administration are not telegraphing their punches and it has people like you and the democrats crazy.

Trumps use of Twitter is a Trojan horse, and YOU are falling for it.

"Regarding your list, any of the conventional Republicans would have gotten you most of that."

Trump is NOT a "conventional republican". And no, I don't agree with this.

Trump is a fighter. He does not allow anyone to do or say anything to him without fighting back. Most of we Americans (basically republicans) used to believe that we have to be polite in the face of the gorillas of the left harassing us.

Not anymore.

They wanted incivility and now they have it.

If the House flips and/or the senate flips; Trump is in deep deep trouble. His head will explode at the first veto override. (and no, I don't think there is anything to impeach him on.....yet).

His base got the exact President they wanted. A baboon. His base and the lead cheerleader here LOVE Trump and anything he does (lie constantly) are just ignored.

@DKHSK :”Kathleen, I provide you with data that goes against your preconceived notions and yet again, you move the goal posts.”

Oh, boy. Excuse me, Kathleen. Time to school Dan again. No, Dan, Kathleen didn’t move any goal posts. In fact, achieving an average annual GDP growth of 4% is a campaign promise that Donald Trump himself made. In the approximately year and a half that Trump has been in office, he has consistently FAILED to deliver on that promise. Instead, up until the latest quarter, the quarterly annualized growth rates thus far for Trump have been 1.8%, 3.0%, 2.8%, 2.3%, and 2.2%. To translate that into simple terms that you can understand, that would be FAIL, FAIL, FAIL, FAIL, AND FAIL. Including the latest 4.2% quarterly growth rate, the average GDP annual growth rate thus far into Trump’s presidency has been about 2.7%, which falls way short of his promised 4% growth rate.

Dan,
It’s about the data, not a comment.
Your link on regulations . . .The Hill . . . Mostly say he’s failed.
For your Arab comment—it’s not a US perspective or bias. And IF we killed Russians, how exactly is that a good thing?
If healthcare costs keep rising it isn’t about choices for most.
“So what” isn’t much of a rebuttal.
It’s Mother Nature.

I’ll look at rest later.

Doug,

For crying out loud this is what he said:

"We will double our growth and have the strongest economy anywhere in the world." Grow the nation's economy by at least 4 percent per year, although Trump has also suggested he will boost growth to at least 6 percent per year - if not much higher."

It takes time to double the economy, as any two-bit economist would tell you. Regardless, he's done exactly what he's said.

Please...go out and get some fresh air, you're just making a fool of yourself.

Katheleen,

You ARE aware that the Russians are fighting in the middle east for Syria, right? You DO understand the significance of wiping out a whole battalion, right?

My point is, that Trump's policy towards the Middle East is diametric from Obamas and it is bearing fruit.

Want another data point? How many attacks have the Iran Navy attempted towards the US NAVY since Trump has been in office? A grand total of 14 since he fully took office and 0 in 2018 so far. How many in the two years prior to Trump: 58. Thanks Obama...nice show of being weak.

Or maybe we can attribute the low number to Obamas policies since that what you want to do for everything else? -snicker-

My point is, things have changed for the better, but you Democrats and liberals refuse to see it.

Not defending Obama, and Russian interference continues. Trump reveres Putin, hoped to have his help in the campaign, denied Russia’s involvement here and abroad, tried the “oops I meant to say wouldn’t . . . twice”, and is still under investigation with a goodly number of his “outstanding” men taking plea deals. And despite reluctant sanctions, the interference continues two years later.

Try broadening your own research.

Trump didn’t have anything to do with the US troops in Syria defending themselves against an attack by Russian mercenaries. @Bill: "Did not say Trump would have stopped the Crimea annexation, said Obama did not. That is the fact along with more sanctions than Obama on Russia."

Uh, huh. So you think that Trump was leading the efforts in his administration to sanction Russia rather than trying to block his own administration's efforts, do you?

"Trump just blocked his own administration’s Russia sanctions"

"It appears that President Trump just blocked his own administration’s plan to sanction Russia.

"...The sanctions were explicitly focused on Russian companies that deal in equipment linked to Assad’s chemical weapons program. But just a day later, the White House backtracked, with press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders saying that the administration was merely “considering additional sanctions on Russia” and that “a decision will be made in the near future.” So why the awkward reversal? Apparently Trump wasn’t on board with sanctioning Russia."

"...This isn’t the first time Trump has seemed to be at odds with or out of touch with the way the rest of his administration is handling Russia policy. Trump was reportedly furious that his administration ended up expelling 60 Russian diplomats in response to the poisoning of Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal on British soil on March 4."

This was especially the case during Obama's failed administration when Iran was attacking our Navy. And remember that "red line" Obama drew in Syria? What happened there? Oh, and what about the warning he gave the Russians if they invade Crimea?

What's that you say? Crickets?

DKHSK may be trying to argue that someone like Manafort's conviction was not "related" to Trump or his campaign because the bank and tax fraud crimes of Manafort had nothing to due with Trump. Pap was convicted of lying to the FBI over his visit with Misfud.

Flynn also pled guilty to lying to the FBI by stating he did not talk to the Russian ambassador. Ironically he has yet been sentence and to date, this has been held off more than 125 days. Care to guess why?

Gates pled guilty to Fraud-related charges unrelated to Trump and turned against Manafort in his first trial.

And....

Manafort was found quilty of fraud-related charges having nothing to do with Trump and occurring way before 2013 and his relationship with the Trump campaign.

In all these case, NONE were tied to Trump. Lying to the FBI is not the same as the fictitious "collusion".

Never understood why Trump supporters thought that coining thr term “Trunp Derangement Syndrome” was a wise one. After all, the natural meaning of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is “symptoms that Trump is deranged”. The fact that about half the country believes that Trump is mentally ill only reinforces that interpretation of the term TDS. Given the fact that about half of all Americans think that Trump is mentally unstable, how could the term “Trump Derangement Syndrome” be understood as anything else other than “symptoms that Trump is deranged”? Serious question.

TDS is also diagnosed when a person has a lack of analytical ability. Trump is awful but Hillary would be worse.

Bill, we can agree, perhaps, that both candidates were a lousy vote.

Chief of Staff? Attorney General? Son(s)? Son-in-law?

Kathleen,

I'm waiting for your point? In my capacity as an executive I've had to fire people too.

Trump is new to politics. He has no idea the character of any of the former players in his office, since most have been involved in politics their whole lives.

And please, the last three on your long list won't come to trial and are part of the Mueller investigation.

"Chief of Staff? Attorney General? Son(s)? Son-in-law?"

LOL! Care to place a bet on these?

"Lousy vote"

Perhaps anyone here will do a side-by-side comparison of all the policy achievements and fulfilled campaign promises of the previous 5 presidents within the first 2 years in office?

I'll wait...

You can't accept effectiveness because of political party.

Plain and simple.

Wrong Dan. I'm a registered Republican--it's the man. And as you said to me, you raised the issue. Go for it, do the side-by-side.

Wrong again Kathleen. I quoted the meaning of TDS.

Here's what I loath about the current political class (but mainly democrats and squishy RINO's like Kathleen).

They say they have docs/evidence that Trump colluded with Russia but that we can't see them because they are classified.

Trump says "ok, I'm going to de-classify the docs/evidence"

Now those same democrats and RINOS oppose it because they're classified and might expose investigative techniques.

You can't make this up...

Ok Kathleen, I just might. But then you'll just whine and say "I still don't like him because he has a potty mouth".

So typical.

Doc, not wrong. Apparently a different quote. One that doesn’t ring true.

Dan, lets be clear he declassified documents favorable to him only. But I already said I’ll wait for the report and the chips can fall where they may.

Stop with the name calling and assumptions about others. It only makes you look like you can’t present any cogent information.

I don’t care for Trump for many reasons; a potty mouth would be far down on the list.

Perhaps it is my quote that rings true and not yours Kathleen. I used Wikipedia, a favorite source for progressives, liberals, socialists and the like.

@Doc

Yup, Doc. Nothing rings truer than a supporter of a guy who half the country thinks is nuts trying to tell others that they're the ones who are "deranged".

In this instance "favorable" docs = Innocence.

When your chips fall, I'll be there to collect them.

You attempt to classify who I am as well as others. Actions of someone trying to divert discussion or to present any real information or facts. Not to mention it's unnecessary and mostly a weenie move.

@Bill

Supporting someone as mentally wacky and unhinged as Donald Trump while at the same time criticizing others for being “analytically incoherent” just doesn’t work. Sorry. It does make for a big laugh and great entertainment, though, so thanks for that.

He will go down as a great President. The only place he is unpopular is California and New York. That should say something right there.

@Donald,

Okay, you're kidding right?

Using "your" instead of "you're" all over the place and changing your story, saying "evil", and using nonstandard grammar...

You are making fun of Trump voters?
