Here is the problem with with California politicians Swalwell and Harris. Trying to reach out to them is extremely difficult. I’m sure they are cautious of rabid people that are for or against, but even a simple email is filtered through possibly an algorithm or aides that insulate these politicians. Trying to present a question or questions are going to be cherry picked. I would love to see Swalwell respond and find out If is willing to take questions on the fly and perhaps put his aides to work by listing questions. Then responding on a blog, not by aides but a personal response. Some of the quirky issues they are taking on don’t represent the concerns of local constituents. Here is question to Swalwell; “Why aren’t you gathering democratic support to beat Nunes in Fresno since he is affecting all of us with his stooge like conduct?”

Swalwell Flyer in my mail box today:

The flyer in my mail box today is addressed to Michael Austin or "current resident".
It is a 11 X 16 multi colored, folded in half to present four pages, with instruction on the lower right corner to "open here".

This is a prime example of Eric Swalwell talking down to his constituents, condescending.

The flyer on page two provides several bullets where Swalwell lists his legislative prowess.

His legislative prowess as he provides it is as follows:

> "fighting for less traffic".
> "introducing Duty To Report act".
> "Proposed a national buyback of weapons".
> "Stood up for freedom of press".
> "Urged strong funding for transit".

There is no beating of the chest regarding any federal Money hat He Eric Swalwell
acquired through his legislative prowess for the 15TH District.

Eric Swalwell years in Congress representing the 15TH District is limited to:

"standing up"

Eric Swalwell is Pete Stark reinvented.

Hey Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin (15th district) residents, instead of Swalwell’s one hour event, come meet and discuss real issues affecting our district right now with candidate RUDY PETERS. He will be at Eight Bridges Brewing, Inc in Livermore from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on the same day (July 14th). Rudy Peters is running against Swalwell in November.

Someone finds the words “open here” condescending? Yikes.

I, for one, appreciate Rep Swallwell’s efforts on behalf of our district and I hope he’s able to accomplish a lot despite this hyper partisan climate.

Someone who doesn’t vote along party lines

Maybe because this is everything that is wrong with Congress? They spend all their time raising money for themselves and getting pork for their district rather than doing what's best for the American people. Anyone who advertised how much pork they brought home would never get my vote.

Michael Austin, you don’t like Swalwell. Gotcha. Good to know. That’s your right.

But you didn’t prove your case even in the slightest by saying that he is condescending for someone having put “Open here” on a folded flyer. Why do you care? Why does that seem condescending to you? Why did you even follow its exhortation, if you don’t like him, and actually open it?

And I don’t know what sort of pork you want for an out-of-power-party candidate. I didn’t even realize you wanted pork.

I don’t know if Swalwell is any good. I keep looking at comments here to find out. But all I have heard are people complaining about him vaguely because he is in the party they disfavor. So I feel that I learned less about him through the comments than I could have by reading a dictionary.

Grumpy. I think we all speak in polarized terms. We either like or dislike. Michael evidently doesn’t like swillwell. I can identify. So far I’m not thrilled with him either and I would like to see him (or any other politician answer a question) rather than repeating a question, then going off on some long winded explanation of their fixed agenda.
Swillwell has done nothing in my opinion since he was sent to congress to replace another do nothing who’d ?served? this district for forty years. As long as he does nothing, I guess we’re stuck with him for another decade or teo

A "national buyback of weapons" (from law abiding citizens)? This doesn't "accomplish" anything. And is an illustration of Swalwell being part of the left wing fringe of his party that ignores the 2nd Amendment/thinks that people who abuse firearms are just victims.

Gun control supporters/liberals/progressives keep promising/reassuring people that "no one wants to ban or confiscate your guns". Guess who does and which party he represents?

I have been a registered democrat for more than fifty years.
I voted for Swalwell when he ran against Pete Stark because,
like everyone else I wanted Pete Stark out of office.
Now, I want Eric Swalwell out of office.

Sad how little he has done for the District while whining about Russia for the past year and a half.

He is more concerned with his face time on TV than he is the needs of the district.

Opiates, homelessness, traffic and more have all gotten worse since he took over, and while the blame cannot entirely be placed on him, these problems aren't even on his radar.

If your child needed a life saving operation would you ask the surgeon if they were a Democrat or Republican? No.

If an employee you managed wasn't doing their job would you keep them with the company simply because you aligned with their political party affiliation? No.

Eric isn't doing the job he was elected to perform. He's also failed to produce on key promises he's made to the District. Additionally, his confrontational behavior along with his lack of focus (more focus on running for POTUS) all but assures that we'll not receive any support for the critical issues of Dist 15. There are plenty of Democrats writing bills that get signed into law. There are plenty of Democrats getting money for their district's needs. Just not Eric.

If you can't stomach a GOP or NPP representative then at the very least the district should tell Eric to either step up or find another Democrat who will.

I understand party loyalty, I understand people liking someone simply because they view the world through the same lens...

...I struggle to understand why people accept sub-par performance simply due to political alignment.

I think serving on the Intelligence Committee looking into possible Rusiian interference is pretty darn important work. Additionally it raises OUR US Rep cred for funding support to address local traffic, homeless, etc. so go to the Open House to ask about his specific ideas or actions. Im very concerned about traffic congestion, lack of City of Tracy participation in the Tri-Valley coalition to address the aforementioned, and City of San Jose refusal to build housing. Of course the short comings of BART. I have met Swalwell at a community meeting and found him to be approachable, genuine and caring. Rare qualities in the jaded, nasty world of politics these days.
