Doctor dies in crash after large tree falls onto I-680

A woman killed when a tree fell onto northbound Interstate 680 on Monday in Danville has been identified as Lyudmila Beyzer, a doctor of 15 years at John Muir Health.

This is a trajedy and a freak accident. We drove Northbound on I680 about 10 minutes prior to the accident and we have thought that it could have easily been us instead.
Sounds like CalTrans did not inspect or evaluate this tree properly for stability. We saw the stump when returning home and it looked pretty brittle and perhaps the tree was dead or diseased.

She was a wonderful lady, and great Dr. I will miss her greatly.
