Rest in Peace, Carla. You will be missed at school on Monday (and many more days to come).

The PMS Family, along with the entire Pleasanton community, has been rocked in these last 2 weeks due to unimaginable loss. Many of our children are facing the idea of mortality for the very first time and I'm sure it is very confusing to them. We as parents must talk to our children about these tragic losses and be sure they are properly equipped to deal with their emotions and not be afraid to speak honestly about them. So many families facing very tough times ahead, I will be keeping them all in my prayers.

This is a devastating loss for all of us. Carla balanced our staff at Pleasanton Middle with her warmth, wisdom and humor. She was a fantastic friend, a cherished colleague, and a wonderful and loving teacher for my own son and countless others. To say she will be missed is a true understatement.

Mrs. Boerman touched the lives of so many students; including my daughter. She was the type of teacher who shared so much of herself which made her beloved by all! This tragedy is a huge loss to many children! My heart goes out to her family. Rest in peace, Mrs. Boerman. You will be missed.
