Thanks to our firefighters for so quickly extinguishing this blaze which so easily could have become a disaster. My wife and I awoke to the smell of smoke a little after midnight, first checked out our home for any fire or heat, then walked outside checking the yard and immediate neighborhood. All was calm and quiet in Pleasanton Valley, but the smell of smoke was heavy and the sky was a bit smoky. We knew a fire was not too far away, and we again appreciate those who are ready to protect us 24 hours a day.
