Congresswoman Barbara Lee stands with Supervisor Nate Miley

Original post made by Rachel Weiler, Downtown, on May 3, 2016

Supervisor Nate Miley, up for reelection in the June 2016 primary, received the endorsement of 14 term Congresswoman Barbara Lee, 13th District of California.

Congresswoman Lee is endorsing Supervisor Miley's campaign because of the dedicated and effective services Supervisor Miley delivers to county residents. On announcing the endorsement Congresswoman Lee said, "I've known Nate for over 25 years from our early work together when he was on the Oakland City Council. Nate has always been a champion for the disadvantaged, especially seniors and youth. He puts the public's interest first, has a track record of delivering services, and the know-how to get the job done." Congresswoman Lee added, she recalls her early days of running for the Assembly and proudly receiving then Councilmember Miley's endorsement.

Supervisor Miley and Congresswoman Lee have worked collaboratively together in Oakland and the unincorporated areas of Alameda County. "I'm proud to stand with Congresswoman Lee and to have received her endorsement," said Supervisor Miley. "Over the years we have worked closely to deliver innovative projects from Youth Uprising in Oakland to building sidewalks and bike lanes in the unincorporated Alameda County communities of Ashland, Cherryland, and Castro Valley."

Congresswoman Lee joins an impressive list, including every Tri-Valley Mayor, the entire Pleasanton City Council, The Livermore Independent, Oakland Councilmembers Dan Kalb, Larry Reid, Noel Gallo, and Annie Campbell Washington, Bishop Bob Jackson of Acts Full Gospel Church, Pastor Emeritus J. Alfred Smith of Allen Temple Baptist Church, Bay East Association of Realtors, Alameda Labor Council, Building and Construction Trades Council, Alameda County Democratic Central Committee, and school board members from across the district.
