SWALWEL DODGING CONSTITUENT QUESTIONS

Original post made by Michael Austin, Pleasanton Meadows, on Jan 26, 2016

Congressman Eric Swalwel, Ala Mary Hayashi is dodging his constituents.
Remember Mary Hayashi? Congressman Swalwel has achieved her manner of not responding to his constituents.

Last year I sent Congressman Swalwel an email, asking him why he voted no against Kate's law. He responded with the Nancy Pelosi standard political philosophy in an attempt to explain his no vote against Kate's law.

I posted his email response on this forum, and shared a poll I conducted where I asked one hundred people in Pleasanton if they supported Kate's Law. All one hundred of those people I asked the question with, responded that they support Kate's law.

This clearly indicates that Swalwel is not in tune with his constituency. In fact supports the San Francisco voting public with his Pelosi response, and ignores what his constituents in Pleasanton expect from him.

My most recent email to Congressman Swalwel received the following response, "this email in box is unattended, to call his office to speak with a member of his staff".

That email in box worked for me previously when I asked Swalwel why he voted no against Kate's Law. That email in box is not working for me now.

May Hayashi was voted out of office for her misdemeanor criminal activity and her deliberate evasive behavior activity with her constituents. Swalwel is charting his path out of office by way of his evasive tactics to not respond to his constituents and his no vote against Kaye's Law.

Grazer is the same. Won't answer email or calls.

Pleasanton Parent is a registered user.

Is 100 even a statistically representative number for him to look at?

I think your blending two issues - him not responding to you with him not voting in support of something you feel is right.

Focus on gaining public verifiable support for the second to achieve the first. Hint, a local news forum isn't the right start

You are ridiculous. Congressman Swalwell seems to work 24/7 for YOU and ME! He is everywhere, always listening, always responding. I have submitted several questions to his staff and I've gotten direct email from the congressman. I am very impressed by his tireless efforts on our community's behalf.

I have to agree with Michael Austin on this one. I wrote, complaining about his vote on the Sanctuary Cities bill and got back the same sort of wishy-washy, Democratic-party-dictated response. He lost my support, with that vote and his response.
I have to agree that once he hit the big time in Washington, DC, he seems to listen to Pelosi rather than his constituents.
Wake up, Eric, and revert to the man you used to be...the one we elected. We had such high hopes for you.

If you are a democrat - it's likely he represents you (unless you're a democrat who actually departs from the party line occasionally - there are those out there). If you're not, he doesn't represent you. Come on - this is California. That's how it works. So much easier for him that way, in many respects. But since he has a "D" by his name on the ballot, he'll probably always get reelected here in California - easy street for this guy. He probably comes home and acts like he had a hard day at the office - right.....

Had similar response regarding some senior citizen issues. Got a "form-letter" response saying thank you for contacting our office. Reply never acknowledged the subject matter of my letter.

From California Citizens Commission on redistricting (2012 data)

Congressional District 15
Democratic: 48.6%
Republican: 24.2%
Other: 27.2%
