He's never been engaged but he's going to be fully engaged now?
This is a win for Amador Valley.

This is NOT a win. Dr. Drescher is a well respected presence on our campus and will be highly missed.

Dresher shook things up when they needed to be shaken up. In 2013 had just gotten his degree in educational leadership and was aiming for something district level. This position was lateral for him. He came to Pleasanton looking for a promotion. He has been passed over for a promotion. So he moves on. Dresher appears to have a goal, and seems to be working toward that.

Expect more heads to move on.

If you compare him to the last two amazing AVHS principals, Drescher was not engaged. Rarely saw him on campus. Mr. Hansen was highly visible on campus. If Drescher is looking for a job in the district office, then I commend him for resigning. We need a principal who is vested in student education and our school, not an administrator just waiting it out to get to the next rung on the district ladder.

Dr Drescher came to Amador saying he was there to stay for awhile. He said he wanted to be Principal and work with the Amador community. If he is leaving after only a little more than two years than it is because something is wrong. Ask any student what interaction they have had with him? Why Start Now hit it on the nail. Amador deserves better and will get better.
