Pleasanton garbage rates heading up New Year's Day for big-can users

Original post made on Dec 31, 2015

Pleasanton Garbage bills quarterly, not a 2 month cycle.

You might not know who they are, or what they do,
but the Alameda County Waste Management Authority, a joint powers authority
approved yet another FEE, that YOU are probably paying on your trash bill,
unless you opt out. AND even if you do, you pay the next bill, but not in the future!
What a racket!

See

to see how you are being billed for "services" you never asked for,
and how to OPT OUT.

Take the time to eliminate this extra fee, while you can.

"All garbage service accounts opened prior to December 1, 2014 were given an opportunity to opt out of the Benchmark Service within 60 days of receiving their first Benchmark Report. If you opted out of the service, you must pay the fee for one year, but will not be charged in future years. If you did not opt out, you must continue to pay the fee.

The opt-out period for newer account holders is currently closed. Accounts opened December 1, 2014 or later will have on opportunity to opt out of the service when they receive the January 2016 Benchmark Report. If you opt out, you will have to pay the fee for one year, but will not be charged in future years. If you would like to be notified when this opt-out period is available, send an email to [email protected] with your request. "
