You can thank the previous City Council, led by Cheryl Cook-Kallio (now running for State Assembly)for approving the Stoneridge Extension. Great for the City of Livermore: more cars can get to the Outlet Mall to support the retail feeding-frenzy of Christmas shopping while adding to Livermore's city coffers, but bad for the residents of Pleasanton. Now, Pleasanton want's it's own retail "heaven" by allowing a Costco to be built on the other end of Stoneridge Drive at I-680. We're in for a stereo version of gridlock on the east and west side of town if the Costco is approved!

I think the same people came up with the ridiculous stop lights for the Iron Horse Trail across Las Positas and Owens Drive. How can it make sense logistically or for safety to have these signals so close to intersection traffic lights. Additionally Owens becoming one lane at Bart station is doesn't make any sense.

A workable approach would be to turn HYW 84 from 580/Isabel to 680/84 into a full fledged freeway. This would take a lot of pressure off of 580 from the 680/580 interchange to El Charro. If developers have their way there is little chance of this happening, as the Isabel corridor is slated to become high density housing and light industrial. Developers already ruined any chance of connecting 680 with 880 at Mission Blvd in Fremont. They will do the same thing to this section of 580 if they get their way. By the way Mission Blvd was suppose to be a temporary link between 680 and 880. The finished plan called for a the link to be a freeway. Developers saw dollar signs and that was the end of plans for easy access from one freeway to another. Is this another case of history repeats itself because nobody learned any lessons from past mistakes? I would hope that the people we elect would be smart enough to figure this out, but history unfortunately points in the other direction.

In 1993 Caltrans announced that that State Route 85 that connects Mountain view to San Jose, and runs through Los Altos, Cupertino, "will be the last freeway built in California".

The only people complaining about traffic and Costco are gas station owners that are afraid of losing business to costco. Bring costco to Pleasanton. It's a good business.

Build Costco in Pleasanton, great location! Let council know you want it in Pleasanton. Might forgive council for those unnecessary 50 huge homes!

Costco on Johnson Drive ?? Forget it. Traffic is already stop and go.

Yes, its stop and go at 680 and stoneridge dr as I'm getting on the freeway to go to Costco in Livermore. It would seem like Costco in Pleasanton will only help traffic in the big picture when I don't have to get on the freeway to go to Costco.

Kill 2 birds with 1 developer and build Costco where those 50 homes aren't supposed to be going, then turn that lot on Johnson dr. Into a giant parking lot for black tie limos, problem solved-- Except for prop PP, but then the city honchos never worried about that anyway, let's build on all the hillsides, dublins doing it so it must be right!

Brillant idea, map. CC & R's don't mean anything so shouldn't be a problem with Costco going there instead of homes.

It's really none of my business where Costco builds. I pop up at Costco from time to time but generally, I don't need a lot of what they push.

Undocumented residents hang out near Costco looking for day jobs so that's why I appreciate the C.
