Purple is the theme color for Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s annual fundraiser, coming to Pleasanton Middle School on Saturday, July 18th. Relay for Life Teams will circle the track for 24 hours continuously beginning at 9am Saturday morning, a reminder that the fight against cancer never sleeps.
All survivors are invited to attend the Opening Ceremonies at 9am where Mayor Jerry Thorne will help to open the event, and all survivors will be invited to walk the survivor lap. A survivor tent will have gifts and refreshments, as well as massages.
Entertainment will be held throughout the day and the public is invited to join in the festivities. A kids camp will feature bubbles, bean bag tosses, face painting etc.
The large ribbon circling the tree is in front of the Heritage Bank of Commerce, one of the event sponsors.
