Congrats to both FHS and AVHS athletes for a well played game! This news "article" was written by an Amador booster mom, though…. not exactly "newsworthy" and just reminds me of how parents can get a little too competitive...

Don't put down the booster mom; she is out there for the kids. She wrote a good informative article and nothing more.
If you have volunteered for anything, have you not noticed, it's always the same people volunteering?
You should be thanking her, not critizing her!
Well done super mom!

Pleasanton at its finest. Not only tooting her teams own horn, but throws in her son's name and her profession. Hey, anybody need a loan? C'mon Pleasanton Weekly is this what news in Pleasanton has come to?

Commentor and Barbara, you are both rude! Show a little class and be happy for somebody else's success!

I'm happy that someone took the time to write the article and shine a spotlight on the kids involved. Naturally, many of the spectators at the game were the parents of the players so it stands to reason that the writer's kid ended up in the article.
Don't understand why the writer had to list where she works though.

Most articles about Pleasanton sports games *are* done by parents, otherwise they normally wouldn't get written. This game article was one of the better ones, providing background, highlights and a scoring breakdown for the Dons.
For you naysayers, did you bother to add up the scores of the players mentioned? Ms. Ruotolo documented *every* player who made up the winning 52 points.
As for the note at the end, I would bet it's the PW Editor's note. The PW frequently adds the same kind of info for every writer they publish who is not on staff. Check out past issues.

We ENCOURAGE parents and coaches to send us sports news - game coverage, registrations, fund-raisers, etc.
As this parent did, report on the team, not just one or two of the young athletes.
Send sports scores, news and photos for publication. Use first and last names and, if submitting a photo, identify the people in the photo from left to right. The photo must be attached to an email in JPG format, at least 300 dpi.
I have a form you can use. If you would like a copy, email me at [email protected] Jeremy Walsh is our youth sports editor (among many other duties). Email youth sports to him at [email protected], or fax to 650-223-7554. For more information, call him at 925-600-0840, ext. 111.

Anyone know what the records of the two teams are this year? Both teams historically have fielded good teams and I bet this year is no different. Bet it was an exciting game.

Select a sport, then "Schedule" and you'll find the scores for each game.
I'm more familiar with Amador because my grandson attended there. I'm sure Foothill must have something similar.

As a full-time working mother this saddens me. I don't see this post as self-promotion at all. I see a post from a mother who not only works, but who volunteers and raises a family. We should all be so lucky to have more of these people in our community who work tirelessly through volunteering because many people don't step up to lift a finger in our community. Why can't we praise people who go above and beyond rather than try to bring them down? I will never understand that. Thank you for sharing. It's nice to see school spirit alive and well - something that I was a big part of in my high school and it's fun to see high school students (regardless if they're from Amador or Foothill) enjoying their high school years.
