Looking for a NEW MAYOR

Original post made by Looking for a new Mayor, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Jul 26, 2014

Pleasanton's Mayor Jerry Thorne recently penned a Guest Opinion: City of Planned Progress: Fighting for local land use control. It was reviewed by Citizens throughout Pleasanton with anger. Many of my neighbors are frustrated that new stack and pack type of Dublin housing is coming, yet we don't have enough water for everyone now. Why didn't the Council and Mayor say NO to the 1800 more high density housing that they approved? Yes, there was a lawsuit and yes we lost, but we are in Stage 3 Emergency water shortage! STOP!

On top of that, the mayor and most of the council want to keep planning on how they can put even more houses throughout town for sites like CM Capital on W Las Positas for 200 MORE apartments.

AND, the majority of the Council and Mayor want to continue to plan for EVEN MORE houses in the Chain of Lakes area. They are planning for up to 2200 MORE houses!! This is on top of 500 houses getting started near the bart station, 250 near Safeway, 350 near Sunol/McDonalds and more.

Mr. Thorne, you ran on a pro-business platform and I voted for you. No one told me you were talking about the business of building new apartments throughout Pleasanton - thousands of them. Please don't ever say you are want a "small town feel" because that is not true.

PLEASE will someone please run against him and change the tide of pro-growth we have with this elected government? I do not believe that Jerry Thorne represents the people of Pleasanton, and he never did - he just pretended to.
