Warning - Fake Traffic Ticket/Bench Warrant Scam

Original post made by resident, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Jul 25, 2014

Pleasanton residents are receiving telephone calls in which people are impersonating police officers and demanding payments for traffic tickets from Pleasanton 'enforcement cameras.'

In some cases, a caller identifies himself as a police officer from the Alameda County Warrants Division in Fremont and identifies himself as Sgt Bruce Miller. They indicate that a Pleasanton traffic camera captured a "failure to yield" violation and requests a payment otherwise a bench warrant will be issued.

The caller instructs the victim to call another number to place a payment. The caller makes a similar threat regarding bench warrants if the money is not received.

If you have received a similar call, please contact the Pleasanton Police Department at 931-5100.

The same thing happened recently in Alaska when the Democratic sock puppet police union freedom haters ticketed Sarah Palin for driving 64 in a 45 zone. True to form, the Governor downplayed the incident, saying she was merely qualifying for an upcoming NASCAR race. LOL
