Actually the site is not down, I just filled out the survey. It couldn't be easier to locate information and details about the calendar change- all found on the form. I appreciate the clear communication and listening the district has done over this issue. They started this process months ago, not rushing a decision.

When people complained they didn't know about it, the district delayed a final vote.
When people complained the calendar didn't have actual dates, the district created one with dates.
When people complained there was no survey for the parents, the district created one.
When people complained that they weren't notified, the district sent automated phone calls to all PUSD families. (a very LONG and detailed message)
When people complain that communication shouldnt be digital (funny they complain on the blogs!), the district offers paper surveys.

Clearly, the district is listening to the parent community. Im curious to hear the appreciation for that now, or can we just expect more complaints?

The calendar is a great decision FOR STUDENTS. I appreciate the thought, time and patience the district has put into making this well orchestrated change.

Why doesn't the school board combine the calendar debate with the Jon Vranesh debate and hold the meeting at the Fairgrounds? That might attract about 500 people. Liquor should be available. Then open it up to freestyle debate. It wouldn't take long until a free-for-all developed. A good ol' western-style duke it out. Let it run until everyone is exhausted. Only rules are the Superintendent and her direct reports, the Board members, all the Walnut Grove perp suspects (ex-principal, plotting teachers, the don't-give-a s*** janitor(s), the Pleasanton teachers' union leadership (rumor has it that ol' Peggy has a mean uppercut), and the flamethrower parents all need to be involved in the "give and take". The subsequent Channel 30 audience would be huge -- huge! The Channel 30 video might get picked up by MSNBC and Fox News and touch off a media range war. That could get our minds off the Obama-fiasco-of-the-week coverage.
