I'm not sure if the PW is scared about being brought into court by providing a bulletin board for people to discuss this issue, or are they secretly supporting the PUSD.

I have watched this topic wink on and off the square. The documents and the requesters are public information. For the few documents I looked at, the redactions could be better, and they are supposed to include the government code that allows the redactions (6254c covers private contact information, personnel and student matters; 6254k covers attorney client privilege). I'm surprised the latter was allowed to slip.

Did anyone have a chance to read it before it was taken down? If so, what did it say?

The docs are on the pusd website, but have been changed and re-ordered. So the document 25 referred to before is now a different document. The document that was 25 outlined JV's timeline of events. Interesting reading. There were issues with the cleaning / cleaner of the school that he struggled with. He had problems getting needed resources from the district head office. Also a lot of in-fighting that he had been informally, but not formally, warned about before he started. He was trying to fix how donated money was used and tracked (some kept in staff accounts for years) and there was resistance to this. There were a number of statements against him. Many also for him. Very messy.

I read several of the documents. It sounds like there were a lot more issues than just the reported name calling. The issue with the janitor, doing stakeouts to see if she was falsifying her time card, and lack of cleaning is kind of eye opening. Not too mention the lack of support from the district office. Really makes me wonder who is running the district.

Doc 21 is now the one that gives JV's timeline. Hard to download ...

Pursuant to several Public Records Act requests made by the Pleasanton Weekly late last year, the school district has just released a large volume of documents relating to former Walnut Grove principal Jon Vranesh and the dispute between him and the district. Instead of providing those documents to us so we could carefully review, digest and responsibly report on them, it instead elected to post them on its website. We are being very cautious about allowing commenting on these documents on Town Square until we have thoroughly reviewed them and sought comment from those who may have a different view of them.
Because many of the documents are highly prejudicial and may be defamatory, we will delete comments that effectively re-publish parts of their content on our site. It is also important to note that the district declined to provide some of the documents we requested, and until we know what was not released we urge the public to be careful about drawing conclusions from what was released.
Reputations of numerous people are potentially affected by these documents, and the redactions made by the school district to protect the privacy of individuals may not adequately protect their identities. So please be restrained in your comments.

I found the info. I know it's redacted but it's hard to follow. A lot of it is he said/ she said. A lot of teachers concerned who was friends with JV and who wasn't. What a mess. Some of the teachers make it sound like he has a mental illness. If that's true and Walnut Grove is such a "family" why didn't someone try to get him professional help, instead of trying to get him fired.
How can someone saying "something's off about him" = a principal being removed from a school? SMH
As for WG being a "family", grow up. It's a place of work. And stop all the infighting and worry about who's the principal's pet and who isn't.
No one seems to think that budget cuts and huge class sizes has anything to with a shift in the "vibe" at the school. Teachers and staff get over worked in these situations and after what I have just read it seems JV target for all the frustration

Can someone please post a link? I haven't the foggiest idea where to start looking for these documents.

After spending too much time reading these documents I have to ask is someone doing a news story on this? It is shocking what has gone on in our community and in our school. It's disgraceful how this was handled.
Union rep admitting she threatened the school board remove the principal immediately or she will go to the press? WTF? I guess if I ever need anything from the school board I will just threaten them and they will do what ever I want.
The teachers didn't go to their union but waited until someone at Fairlands told the union to go to Walnut Grove? Why wouldn't employees report such horrible goings on themselves? They are adults right?
Teachers reporting hearsay, making insinuations of violent tendencies and giving psychiatric diagnosis and it taken as fact?
An investigator who is conducting an investigation about serious accusations questions a person he is interviewing about why Apple computers would work better than PC's on google docs because it's a cloud based service? What does that have anything to do with allegations of a principal harassing staff?
This whole thing stinks and I was absolutely neutral, if not leaning towards the side of the teachers in all of this, until I read the documents. Thank you pleasanton weekly for getting them through the freedom of information act.
