I can't imagine eating meat for breakfast...steak? NOT!
I prefer tea, one bagel, yogurt with fresh fruit...nothing more...ugggggg...small serving,
The Brits eat big breakfasts but I just couldn't do it.

Chubby: spoken like someone who hasn't eaten there. The new restaurants are beautiful and very clean. And the food is not 'greasy'
Cholo: You can get your bagel, tea and fruit there as well
Bon appetite

I hope the diner makes a go of it, despite cholos negative comments about their menu selection. While we can only guess at cholos gender ( which is considered a positive attribute only in this state) we do know he/she is protein deficient. That explains a lot, come to think of it......

So Gad you've come to the tri-valley area. Love "The Griz" and the "Volcano" and the "Sweet cream pancakes". Have never had anything I did not like there. No more driving to Tracy or Concord.

My husband and I LOVE eating at Black Bear Diner and can't believe how much food you get for the price. Thanks for opening one so close to home. As much as we love the friendly atmosphere I'm even looking forward to having a lunch time take out spot for work. Welcome to Pleasanton!

Welcome, Black Bear Diner!! Glad you're here - great food whenever we've stopped on road trips. If you watch your diet, exercise, don't go out to eat every day, every meal, you really shouldn't worry about having a fantastic meal once in a while (grease and all!) Enjoy life! :)

Great hometown service and fresh food!!! I suspect Cholo and Chubby would be delighted to have everyone up on the hillside flatulating methane with the other bovine.

sensible, that sort of rational thinking just will not fly around here.

It's nice to have a BBD in P-town, but what we really need is an Italian restaurant! Wake up people! How long do we have to wait!....
Merry Christmas everyone! (Yeah, I said it. You get no PC greetings from me!)

Black Bear is here to stay, not like the previous resturants. As someone said we need an Italian Resturant too.

Love it! We have always stopped at the Black Bear Diner in Morgan Hill on our way driving down to Santa Barbara and have always had a fantastic meal!
Eat where the truckers, cops, farm and other laborers eat and you'll rarely be disappointed!
Bagel, tea & fresh fruit...well that answers my question of just what do Trolling/Blogging malcontents eat for breakfast.

I'll continue to go to the locally owned and operated places for breakfast.

It was a joke people! There are far too many Italian restaurants in this city, especially downtown. Merry Christmas!

Dan: This is a locally owned business, its owned by a couple from Contra Costa County... They've lived here for practically their entire lives
Thanks to this awesome couple for bringing BBD to town and bringing some new jobs open to the community

I had lunch there yesterday. Actually, ordered breakfast. The platter was a foot and half long!!! Every seat was filled the hour and half my friend and I were there. I had to park a bit illegally in the lot. Every parking space was filled the entire time. They definitely need more parking...best to carpool. Need to study the huge menu before going.
I think they have a Northern Ca following, and will get lots of business right off the freeway,..asking "closest Black Bear' will lead drivers right to Hopyard.
