Jeff Bowser running for Alameda County Superintendent of Schools

Original post made by local, Birdland, on Nov 13, 2013

[Removed because it is false and misleading information] Bowser has filed intent to run papers for Alameda County Superintendent of Schools in 2014 (source: California Secretary of State website). He is creating great material now for his opponents to use. So far those who plan to run against Bowser are: Karen Monroe, Associate Superintendent Alameda County and
Ursula Reed, Councilmember, San Leandro.

Also interesting to see that Mary Hayashi, former assembly person and shoplifter, is planning to run for State Senate, 10th District, in 2014.

Let me see if I understand this, Bowser says NO to a raise for he and fellow board trustees (who earn a paltry $400/month for virtually a full-time job), then goes off to run for office for a full salaried/paying position with the County. Perhaps a political move, but he sure "stuck it" to his fellow trustees that may be staying behind.

Is that leadership or is he campaigning already? If he thinks he is only worth a few dollars an hour now, will he take a pay cut at the County and work for almost free there as well?

Maybe he will pay them to work there? Or just reduce his salary to $400 per month until class size reduction is in place. Could be a bargain, but only if he can say NO to administrators asking for 10X the cost of a paltry raise for the school board trustee.

Will he violate educational law for the county? Will he be dismissive to the voters of the county? Or does he just save that for Pleasanton residents?

The same guy who "negotiated" PUSD salaries while married to a PUSD teacher. Maybe he should run for the BART board.

Why do we even have a county department of education? The states and feds set the standard, the financing comes from them also, so what value added does the county department of education provide? I bet this department could be eliminated and nobody would even notice. Does anybody know of anything useful this department provide and why we even need it?

Watch for Union support for Bowser who carried water for them with recent salary and benefit negotiations, and now in the Walnut Grove principal "personnel matter". How about P.W. reporting the results of some digging into what is actually going on here?

He has hurt the kids of Pleasanton for his lack of support on several school related items. Let's not let him hurt anymore kids!

Voting for Jeff Bowser is voting for the teachers unions that is destroying our school.
I'm all for teachers being paid more they have one of the most important jobs in the world. But I will not support increases until there is a effective way for bad teachers to be remove from the system.

I would be interested to know if Bowser shared info from the boarding's that were be hind closed door about union contracts with his wife who then shared the info with the union.
