Thanks, Pleasanton Weekly and Jeb Bing, for your story about the Library's Silver Anniversary Gala this Friday, November 15th. We are looking forward to entertaining many of you that evening who will be able to join us. We are happy to have our local Village High School Catering Program with Teacher Kitt Little and her students providing wonderful food and their culinary magic with appetizers and desserts for all. Auburn James wines, donated by Jim Frost, will be served for our tasting pleasure along with other non alcoholic beverages. Music by Silver Moon Big Band will help entertain us along with interesting conversations with local authors and political dignitaries. You will be able to bid on many lovely silent auction baskets including having lunch with any of our local community leaders: Mayor, Jerry Thorne, City Council members, Karla Brown and Kathy Narum and City Manager, Nelson Fialho. Our Library has been generously gifted many donations by local businesses and individuals with a variety of services and gift certificates for our silent auction and purchasing more children's books. People in our town see the value and the benefit that the Pleasanton Library provides for our community and have been very supportive in their donations to the Gala. The Library staff, Friends of the Pleasanton Library organization and members of the Library Commission (and their friends) have worked hard over the past year to make this Gala a wonderful tribute to 25 years in our current building. We hope our next celebration will be for the new and expanded Library facility propelled by the same community effort and generous support of our patrons and the residents of the City of Pleasanton. Thank you and hope to see you at the Gala!
