Pleasanton homeowners wondering why their energy bills are so high or wanting to eliminate energy wasters in their homes can receive a free personalized energy diagnosis with the new Home Energy Analyzer.

The online tool helps homeowners learn about how their home is using energy and suggests simple changes that will save money on energy bills and create a more comfortable home.

The Home Energy Analyzer uses PG&E smart meter data to evaluate energy usage and provides real-time information accessible from any computer or mobile device. By pinpointing where energy is being used, and wasted, residents can determine the right energy-saving home improvements to suit their needs.

Also, homeowners looking to complete more comprehensive energy-efficient home improvements may be eligible for rebates up to $4,500 through Energy Upgrade California Home Upgrade.

Energy Upgrade California is a program of the California Public Utilities Commission in collaboration with the California Energy Commission, California counties, cities, nonprofit organizations, and the state’s investor-owned utilities. Funding comes from the utilities’ ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

  1. right. cuz it’s about pg&e monitoring our usage. they want to charge by time of day use, but SO unfair to hot tri-valley users, who must use air cond. yet, they do not make elec cars pay their fair share….somehow, we’re suppose to give them a ‘free ride” along with a basket of subsidies.
