Pleasanton police believe they have seized one of the suspects responsible for a series of robberies here and in other East Bay cities with the arrest yesterday of R’Mani Minard of San Francisco.

According to Pleasanton Detective Brandon Stocking, investigators checking into several organized thefts that occurred at Victoria’s Secret in the Stoneridge Shopping Center between March and May, found a similarity with thefts and robberies at other stores. These included Paragon Outlets in Livermore, NewPark Mall in Newark and the Great Mall in Milpitas, as well as other high-end retailers throughout the Bay Area.

In each case, a group of three to 10 men boldly entered the stores carrying empty bags and removed large amounts of merchandise from the shelves before fleeing.

Working with detectives from the Livermore and Newark police departments, police here identified Minard as the group’s ring leader and obtained warrants for his arrest.

Minard was recently located and arrested in Los Angeles County on unrelated charges and Thursday was brought back to Pleasanton and booked into Santa Rita Jail. He is being held without bail and is facing 13 felony counts of commercial burglary and one felony count of robbery.

The robbery charge stemmed from an incident where Minard initiated a physical altercation with a Victoria’s Secret employee over merchandise.

It is suspected that Minard and his group have been responsible for over $100,000 in retail thefts.

Additional charges from other agencies are expected to be filed in the future. No injuries occurred during the commission of any of the thefts.

The investigation into the identities of other suspects involved in the thefts is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Pleasanton Police Department at (925) 931-5100.

  1. Exactly! These are good boys! All good boys have pictures of guns and marijuana on their cell phone. And it normal for good boys to be kicked out of school.

  2. How do we know the race of the person arrested? These thefts took place long befor Zimmerman’s verdict. I don’t understand your comments at all.

  3. One racist using multiple names here? Or more than one racist on this site?

Either way, it isn’t clear why race has anything to do with this alleged group of robbers.

The Zimmerman shooting of the innocent black kid turned into a race issue when Zimmerman notified a police dispatcher and used race as the basis for directing suspicion at the youth, stalking him, and murdering him.

Someone has to be mentally pretty fogged over to attempt any connection as above poster-posing-as-multiple-posters has done. Why to I collapse them all? Simple. It’s the twisted logic along with its undergirding hatred that gives away the racist Willy every time.

  4. Art..if you truly believe Trevon was innocent you have your head in the sand. If someone approached you as you were walking next to homes to stay out of the rain and asked you what you were doing…would you then attack that person or simply explain your own actions? Try to apply some common sense please….and try to get over your white guilt…it’s sad.

  5. People have to stop using the construction “Race X; therefore, criminal.” People of all races, religions, creeds, colors, national origins and sexual orientations commit crimes.

Hate is wasted energy, especially when the thing you think you hate doesn’t really exist.

  6. I don’t view the comments section very often. But when I do, as for today, I always see William Tell throwing out the use of the LIBERAL this and that.

I cannot understand why conservatives always, and I mean always think the LIBERAL thought, action, or just conversation is ALWAYS bad or wrong.

To believe that is illogical. My belief is that conservatives are not always wrong and there not always right either. Same goes for liberals.

But if you keep saying things like you do…you’re just showing your ignorance! If you want to look and sound intelligent, keep an open mind and look at everything before you open your mouth. You just might agree with a liberal view once in a while.

  7. Zimmerman only used race as a descriptor after the dispatcher asked him to describe the suspect – it was not the first words out of his mouth although the press cleverly edited the tape to lead the public to believe that.
