Class of 2013 graduates at Foothill, Amador Valley high schools as principals also say goodbye

Original post made on Jun 15, 2013

Foothill and Amador Valley high schools held commencement exercises Friday night with thousands of parents, other relatives and friends of the graduates sitting in chairs and bleachers in weather-perfect ceremonies at the two schools' football fields.

I don't have a child at Village, but it's troubling to me that PW has flat ignored their graduating class. These are not throw away students and those that graduated deserve to be mentioned just as the others. These graduates worked hard too.

Another mom, there's nothing stopping you from posting the list of attendees from village...go for it.

Although there's no student list here, if you scroll through all the photos that accompany the report, you'll see that there are several photos of students who spoke at the Village and Horizon graduation ceremonies.

Correction: Sorry - I was mistaken. There aren't actually any photos of the Horizon students. But I know that in the past PW has given Horizon some very encouraging and favorable coverage. And at least two photos have been added since I first saw the report, so perhaps more photos will follow.

Still no list of graduates. My kids don't go there and I'm sure for privacy reasons they can't hand the list to a random person without a student that attends there. If PW has the resources for the other two then its wrong to ignore village and horizon as just throw away kids. Imagine graduating while been a teen with an infant. I congratulate these student for giving their kids the gift of life and think this should be recognized. These kids mean something to their families just as the others do. POST THE LISTS.

As a parent who volunteered for the Amador grad night party at Club Sport, I would like to comment on how well the Class of 2013 represented themselves at Club Sport. What a great group of students. Here's to a bright future for this class. Amador Valley will sorely miss them, along with the departure of Principal Jim Hansen.
