Did city management lie to the public regarding pension reform?

Original post made by Arnold, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Nov 17, 2012

Yes! The city of Pleasanton and the management team have claimed public safety consecions that do not exist. The claimed cost concessions that were published in the Pleasanton Weekly are a fraud. As advertised by city staff, there were cost savings but unfortunately those savings were/are offset by increased costs due to 2 EXTRA WEEKS of paid vacation (which increases the already out of control overtime costs), and also provides an additional 2.5% of salary for which employees were already paid.

What I'm trying to articulate is that while the police & fire departments are claiming great sacrafice it couldn't be further the truth. The tax payers are making the ultimate sacrafice to allow these groups to retire at age 50.
