Hometown parade for Brandon Crawford??

Original post made by PTownMama, Del Prado, on Oct 28, 2012

Let's welcome him home on Main St! Make it happen, Pleasanton! Could be something simple, but a lot of fun.

How are you going to make this happen? Are you asking someone else to set this up or are you planning something? If you're planning something, can you let people know the date, contact details etc. Thanks.

I found this writeup so I thought I should share.

The title is:

He went to foothill. Who is paying for the parade?

Though his wife is pregnant and due in December...why not invite him to ride in the Holiday Parade? No extra cost...simple, simple, simple!

I love the idea of having him in the Holiday Parade!!! What a great suggestion! Yes, let's see "Mr Pleasanton" (as my huband and I called him during the Play-offs and World Series!) here in his home town cheered on by his home town!!

maybe you can include other former light-hitting shortstops from the past - would love to see Chris Speier and Johnnie LeMaster. They could hand out autograph bats, I'd buy a ticket for that!

Brandon was in the Pleasanton National Little League from the time he was 7 thru 12, very nice young man very quiet, deserves ant thing we can give him---out of all the Little Leaguers that have pasted threw this town he is the only one that has made it big time.

Sure, let's have another parade downtown. Let's close Main St, Del Valle Pkwy, and Old Stanley. Heck, while we're at it, let's close Santa Rita, First St, Bernal and Valley as well. This is the most parade happy town on the planet.

P.S. In spite of these parades, downtown still has only banks and restaurants, as wall insufficient parking and customers. Let's have a parade to celebrate to few customers!

P.P.S. I do all my shopping anywhere but downtown.

Yes, Brandon Crawford went to Foothill High and graduated in 2005. He is an important member of the GIANTS baseball team! Congratulations to our hometown HERO!

His mother is a teacher at one of our local elementary schools. I think it's a great idea to include our home town homie in the Holiday parade!

I had the SAME idea!! I moved to Pton b/c my first experience here was the 100 year anniversary parade and we LOVED the hometown feel of the event. Only some small towns get a real World Series champ. My family will be there (his mom, Lynn, taught my daughter at Vintage Hills)

I agree with another Parade post--people that live in other parts of P-town have no idea what it takes to leave my house downtown to get someplace where the streets are constantly closed. and when it's not closed then we have the Good guys where the streets should have parking on those weekend but do.

To those who are complaining about Pleasanton, I have this comment: If you don't like it here, please move. No one forces you to live here. Please do not rain on the parade of those that love and appreciate it here. If you need help packing, there are many that will gladly help.

I'm once again embarassed by my downtown neighbors. Anti Parades, Skate Rink, Farmers Market, Concerts, Blah Blah Blah. Oh, there's traffic because everybody wants to enjoy these activities? Don't live downtown if you don't like it.
