I would have thought that the Benz gps systems would have located the vehicles pronto. Kind of unnerving that they didn't. So much for that option!! Amazing to me in the first place that someone could pry open the "drop off box" with the keys in it. Not very secure I would say. Aren't these dealerships equipped with live video surveillance?

Benz thieves usually arrive via limo, not BART.

Angry: 1. Obama didn't put BART in Pleasanton. 2. Crime hasn't gone up since BART was put in - check the stats 3. Those from Tracy and Sacramento aren't taking BART to come to Pleasanton. 4. One was a (former) Pleasanton resident, apparently now a homeless Pleasanton resident. 5. The person who had their home robbed and so much taken... not sure that burglar would choose BART has their means of transportation.
William Tell-It...: Are you "AA"... How do you know what "AA"s like? Nice comment.

OK, let's put this nonsense about BART and the Pleasanton crime rate to rest once and for all. Here's a table of Pleasanton crime rates versus year for about the last 20 years
(Source: Pleasanton Police Dept. Annual Report 2011 at
Web Link )
Year Pleasanton Crimes Crimes per 1,000 population
Population
2011 70,643 1,284 18.2
2010 70,711 1,385 19.6
2009 70,097 1,370 19.5
2008 69,388 1,567 22.6
2007 68,755 1,358 19.8
2006 67,876 1,620 23.9
2005 67,321 1,660 24.7
2004 67,049 2,002 29.9
2003 66,788 1,694 25.4
2002 65,961 1,804 27.3
2001 65,154 1,750 26.9
2000 63,654 1,511 23.7
1999 61,700 1,489 24.1
1998 60,300 1,818 30.1
1997 57,800 1,845 31.9 <---(Dublin/Pleasanton BART station opens for )
1996 56,000 1,811 32.3 ( service on May 10, 1997 )
1995 55,100 2,029 36.8
1994 53,900 2,144 39.8
1993 53,000 2,106 39.7
1992 52,000 1,977 38.0
------------------------------
Anyone see a big jump in the crime rate as a result of the BART station opening for service in 1997? No? Me neither. Furthermore, the year with the largest number of crimes as well as the number of crimes per capita was 1994, which was three years before the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station opened. The per capita crime rate in 1994 (39.8) was OVER TWICE what it is now (about 18.2). So much for the "Golden Days".

Sorry, the Table headings turned out a bit garbled, but the four columns from left to right are:
(1) Year
(2) Pleasanton Population
(3) Total # of Crimes
(4) Total # of Crimes per 1,000 Population

Obviously, the figures have been manipulated by the socialists that have taken control of our information and transportation systems. Anyone in there right mind nose that crime has dubbled since BART went in, and dubbled again with his royal highness Bore-us Hussien Obama at the helm.

Steve, thank you for your input. I am tired of people saying that the crime hasn't increased because of BART. Many of my neighbors have left their cars on the street for years, cars were safe. Now every night a different car gets vandilized.

BART to Pleasanton brought all the right-wing extremists to this nice quiet suburb.
