The Preserves Neighborhood - Car Hits House

Original post made by Just Curious, Foothill High School, on Jul 6, 2012

Does anyone know what happened in The Preserves on Laural Creek Drive either the evening of July 5 or the morning of July 6? It looks like a car drove through two front yards, hit several trees and bushes and then hit a house.

The Preserves should become a gated community. Too many cars (not from the neighborhood) use Laural Creek to cutover to Stoneridge from Dublin Canyon and vice-versa. You can tell the cars that don't belong in the neighborhood because they are usually going above the posted speed limit, unknowingly that Pleasanton Police usually like to hangout up there.

It is NOT "The Preserves", it IS "The Preserve". (Preserves is a type of jam)

It is NOT "Laural Creek", it IS "Laurel Creek".

Speeding is an ongoing problem at The Preserve, and yes drivers should slow down.

Lets preserve the peace of the Preserves. Strawberry Fields? Blueberry Hill?

Don't believe that it is not your neighbors that are speeding. Sometimes they are the worst offenders. We used to live in a gated community and had neighbors that ran stops signs and speeded daily. We even caught them on camera and when confronted with this they became furious with us.

Guess what happened then? We installed speed bumps and within days of doing this one of them flipped their car right in front of the clubhouse.

I have no problem with gated communities, just as long as my tax money is not used to maintain their streets, lights or trees. If gated (not open to the public)then the people in that community must take care of their own community and not expect the public to do so...

Thank you

liberalism is a disease is a registered user.

right, because those owners of high priced homes in the gated communities don't already pay the majority of the taxes collected: property, sales and income taxes. Your portion of tax money collected is paying to clean up after the bums living under the overpasses in the area. Thanks for that, by the way. We all contribute in some way to improve the city.

Conductor Jerry, a resident of the Amador Estates neighborhood: Thank you for reestablishing the point already made by 'Steven, a member of the Foothill High School community' 20 minutes later, it wasn't like we got it the first time.

Pleasanton Neighbor, a member of the Hart Middle School community: You must love to digress because you were not even close to the main point of this whole post.

A lot of us in the Preserve believe that it WAS a car that damaged that part of the neighborhood.

Yes there are also people who speed in our neighborhood who actually live here, including myself once and a while. The main point is, if you don't live in the Preserve and are just using the neighborhood as a shortcut, that is trespassing and it a federal offense.

I woke at 1:57Am on the 6th to a loud thump and squeeling tires......guess this was the noise.

As long as it not a gated community, I think it is fair game to use the road by ANYONE for any legal purpose!

Speed limits help to prevent accidents, which is good; however, obeying them also prevents the police from taking your money.

This I consider one of life's few win-win situations!

Let's see now, according to Anonymous, if I don't live in a specific neighborhood, and merely drive thru from point "A" to my home, for example, that is a FEDERAL OFFICE called TRESPASSING! Wow! Has Obama gone that far already? And, these are on city built and main-tained streets!!! Sure would like to know where Anon. lives, so I can avoid THAT neighborhood!! And, I do not think a gatedcommunity is the answer.....

Happy FOURTH TO ALL!!

Sorry I didn't catch my error: of course, I meant: "Federal Offense", not Office.

It was probably "Steven" or "Conductor Jerry" that ended up in someone's front yard in The Preserve. I guess they would know the technicalities of the neighborhood since they were probably written up for drunk driving on Laurel Creek Drive in The Preserve.

If you think a gated community will stop speeding you should educate yourself and take a look at Ruby Hills.

Just Curious -> You like to make up stories, don't you?

Truth -> It is NOT "Ruby Hills", it IS "Ruby Hill"

Oh well....

I think people who live in the Preserves and Ruby Hills should expect a little more consideration from there neighbors. They pay more taxes. After all. And if we were truthful, we wuld admit they are superier to us.

pTownLover, a resident of the Amador Estates neighborhood: Hate to break it to you but you would still be committing a federal offense. And if I'm not mistaken you don't live in the Preserve, so SORRY.

I ALWAYS VOTE --, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood: If you read and comprehended what I said before, I live in the Preserve.

Just Curious, a member of the Foothill High School community: lol!

Steve, a resident of the Parkside neighborhood: Ok I wouldn't say 'superior' but yes we do pay more taxes. And thank you by the way :)

Hi Steve, why do you think just because someone lives in the preserve or ruby hill, they think they are superior? I live in ruby hill and don't think I am superior! Why do people like you discriminate like that! I know rude, cocky (and think they are superior) people from all different neighborhoods and walks of life. My husband and I started out with NOTHING! We worked very hard for what we have and have never put it in anyones face! People like you are jealous of anyone who might have a bit more than them, regardless of how hard they have worked! Its called the American dream!

Wow, a simple question about an accident turns into all this crap above. Sad. What a bunch of petty individuals.

Police confirm that there was an accident there, but the report has not been finalized. As soon as it's available, we'll post the information.
