All criminal and legal records should be available in a custody battle. We may be unaware of a spouses violent past or addictions due to lies and deception. All bets are off when the safety of our children is at stake. Funny how Lancaster points the finger when he has a pending drug case. Blaming everyone except himself, sounds like a pattern of denial for his own immoral and illegal actions. I'm sure he'd still have a job if he was a normal law abiding citizen. Nobody forced him to break the law. Kudos for exposing this worm and shame on the media for portraying him as a victim!

The alleged corruption involving local law enforcement officers is certainly doing a fine job in destroying the community's faith in their police departments.

We really need to clean up the Tri Valley area. Seems like these kind of attourney lop cop set ups are way to common. Sad days for Alameda County and pleasanton.

I agree that dirty cops and lawyers need to be stopped. Leaking information is not just illegal, it's sleazy beyond belief and these people need to be severely punished.
But let's not forget what has already been pointed out -- this jerk was arrested on a drug charge. Mr. Upstanding Citizen he is not.

Has the Pleasanton PD put the officer in question here on administrative leave while they investigate? Seems like they should.

If a cop plants drugs in your home that doesn't make you a drug addict. It's good to know that the cops aren't just revenue officers - they have other talents.

Sandra - the records can only be obtained if they are subpoenaed. You can not just start pulling people's confidential files because you want to. If they really felt that his doings were so severe that he shold lose custody of his children, they would have done this the legal way and had the courts make that ruling with legally gathered information. I am sure all information that they gathered illegaly will now be thrown out. Those poor children are now dealing with a mother and father that broke the law. Even though the father has obviously been involved in some illegal behavior, he still has every right to sue. The mother has also been involved in illegal behavior now so they are no better than one another.

It's so wrong what he did he should be fired! But you all know they will protect their own and sweep this under the table. He'll be back to work in no time. Nothing ever happens to these guys when they break the law! They should be held accountable just like the regular citizens! I'm glad he's exposed and we hope the Sheriff fires him, and he looses his retirement.
We don't need Police like this! He gives the police a bad name not the mention a weak Sheriff if he turns his head. Take him off the force and off paid leave now!

Ken..what we need to do is not prosecute the Officer based on one article written by a liberal media. Wait for all the facts ..then if something was done illegally we can seek justice. Let's not jump to conclusions pleasa.

This whole entire thing is just aweful...the doings of these supposed people that we trust our lives with caused a father to loose his job (which means no more child support) and to loose custody of his children! This is terrible. Children need their fathers and this x has gone to disgusting lengths to try and manipulate every possible system that she can find. What she does not realize is that she is digging herself a huge hole which is now way to deep for her to get out of. Exs should never use their hatred twords a failed relationship to ensure that their children resent their father/mother. The children here will grow up and be able to make their own decisions...the sad part is they are having to live in this misery untill the truth comes out. Shame on you...the mother and also the officers and laywer who participated in making sure two boys have no contact with a father that WANTS to be a father...what have you all done?

Martens, the one accused of leaking confidential information, is the one with the canine drug sniffing hounds on public school campuses in town. Fabulous.

Dave seems a little bitter and off track? I guess its ok for police and officers of the court to run around breaking the law. I hope the kids can recover. I hope justice is served on abuse of power. Its just all sad thats for sure.

Pleasanton cops and Alameda county deputies run amok, drunk on their power, thinking they are unaccountable to anyone and above the law. What's new? Thank goodness for people like Mr. Lancaster who calls them out on their crimes. Maybe these public servants will start to obey the laws they have sworn to uphold, but I doubt it. They likely will continue to talk obsessively about their retirement at age 50, ignore real crime, and engage in illegal behavior. Typical cops and crooked lawyers.

Really...Guilty until proven innocent based on one article...what is really scary is all you sheep would be jury members. This is how cults start with people like you guys believing everything you hear or read. What a shame...now go back to your sheltered little lives in Ptown and be sure to call the cops if you hear a dog bark.

Hey Steve,
Sure sounds to me that "Sandra" is the one who is saying guilty until proven innocent.

I wonder if improved health and retirement benefits would attract higher quality applicants to this dangerous and stressful occupation?

Yes, Mike. Us taxpayers should pay for full retirement at 110% of highest pay at age 40. That should take care of the problem with rouge cops, drunk on their power, abusing law abiding citizens and violating the law they have sworn to uphold. Working the graveyard shift at 7/11 in a bad neighborhood is stressful. Claiming to be so stressed out by writing tickets for turning left on Foothill from Castlewood before 8 AM or writing tickets to adults who are in possession of marijuana (it's LEGAL in California) is ridiculous. At least this is a new one. When one criticizes the generous pensions of firefighters, you get the response "you are not in shape enough to do the job and I am hero, I deserve."

I love how people jump to the conclusion that the lawyer and cops are guilty just because there is a headline stating that someone is suing. The folks bad mouthing the cops/lawyer have probably been arrested or ticketed at some point in their lives, but would be the first ones to scream for their help if in trouble.

Great example of Pleasanton Officer Tim Martens corrupt & abusive behavior that directly impacts our community & most importantly our children... Look at integrityconcerns.com & you decide if you want Martens around your children or coming to your call for help. (Removed by Pleasanton Weekly staff because it contained statements that were not verified as accurate)... Very sad for our community, hopefully this situation will end Martens abuse and be an example for other Officers of how NOT to abuse their color of authority.
