At this point who cares if alcohol was related! Is it because he was in his 20's?

How about trying to remind others to watch out for motorcyclists on the road. I can't tell you how many times I've been cut off, swirved at, etc...

Many fire hydrants are mounted on a breakaway "spool" so that if they are struck, it won''t destroy the hydrant, which is expensive.

And why did they take him all the way to Castro Valley?
Valley Memorial Hospital in Livermore is no longer a real hospital, but isn't there an emergency room a lot closer at the Valley site in Pleasanton?

Who cares how old he is or if alcohol did or did not contribute?

People need to watch out for motorcycles! I cannot tell you how often I see near misses because a driver did not carefully check for motorcycles.

As for taking him to Castro Valley, how do you know how severe his injuries are?!?! With what is going on he is lucky to be alive and being cared for at the best trauma unit around, not at just a basic hospital.

Cheryl, You are spot on. It doesn't matter the reason, and doubtful it was alchohol. Surely one option was a car did not see him and may have caused him to ease out of his lane. Car drivers need to take care, too. I see it all the time.

99.9percent of the time, motorcycle victims are taken to Eden or John Muir for their better trauma care. It's just a fact. We don't have that in the tri-valley.
