It's going to be very interesting to see what happens in the next election. Over the past year on these forums and others I've seen many posts by conservatives claiming that "Obama is the worst President ever" and how happy they'll be when the next election comes around so that nearly everyone - including many the disillusioned liberals - will vote in a conservative President who will set things right. Well, things don't appear to be proceeding according to that script. Lately, it looks like many conservatives are looking at the approaching election with a bit of worry because they're starting to realize that they haven't been able to come up with anyone who can come up and beat Obama. And what does that say about the Republican party if they can't find a candidate who can beat the "worst President in the history of the U.S"? I guess that must logically mean that the Republican party has the worst candidates in the history of the U.S., doesn't it?

So it appears that all this past conservative rhetoric about Obama being the worst President in history is going to backfire on conservatives. If Obama is really as bad and unpopular as they say he is, then it should be easy for them to find someone to beat him. If they can't beat Obama it means either (1) Obama isn't as bad and unpopular as they say he is or (2) the Republican party is totally dysfunctional. Either way, the Republican party can't make any excuses for losing this time.

There's another explanation Sam. If we lose, its because the American people are being brainwashed by the liberal media. Look at how they crucified Gingrich. At least he's an American citizen.

This race could well go to a brokered convention. If Jeb Bush is proposed, so Sarah Palin should be minutes later. She is now and always has been the singular Jacksonian voice in the original Tea Party phenomenon; the only one who can bring it to the mainstream. Her absence from the primary race has left a vacuum and no substitute has been found. Every other possible or potential leadership hopeful has risen and receded in this long Republican primary season. It's almost hopeless, they have cheered unstable, irratic, emotional Gingrich on in his attacks to destroy Romney. Gingrich has done damage....we can only hope he hasn't totally destroyed the election.
Florida, the largest and most representative cross-section of the country was a big win for Mitt. If the zealots would stop eating their own, and allow a sensible campaign. Romney could still have
the delegates, and emerge a party ready to go get Obama, which should be the focus. No term is ever what was planned, always a dotcom bubble, mortgage bubble, Enron or accounting scandal, a 9-1-1, some surprise...always. All I know is I want the most intelligent, most educated, cleanest, most scandal-free, outside Washington leader, no political insiders, so I can relax, knowing he will deal with surprise messes (like near-cancelled,disaster Olympics) and rescue and solve problems that will certainly develop. and....as a bonus, he has a truly delightful wife (a former 'first-lady').

Got gas today and paid $4.09 cents a gallon for regular. I voted for Obama last time and big mistake. Since he became President everything which should be up is down and everything which should be down is up. I do not care who is up for office, I am voting against the liberals this time. Obama isn't responsible for higher gas prices. He was screwed from the start with the whole gas issue thanks to Bush. And "sanity," it isn't our duty to serve god. It may be yours, but it isn't the country's.
