What is going on with Carden West school on Willow?

Original post made by Curious, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Jan 17, 2012

I am reading online that this private school filed for bankruptcy two months ago. Is this correct? If this is so, has it been in any newspapers?

Is this school being closed? Would the building on Willow be able to classroom space for a public elementary school?

Curious...this bankruptcy has not been covered in the local news, as far as I can tell.

I did some poking around on the web, and have no way to verify the information that I found. But from what I gather, the school was behind on paying their lease, is raising tuition, letting teachers go, and considering leasing out some of the space to other businesses.

It would be great for PW or the Valley Times to do an article on this, to help us understand how this school fell from being so sought-after to being in financial trouble.

Some of the comments I found were on the 'great schools' web site, Web Link.
