Community Foundation honors Pleasanton Weekly

The Tri-Valley Community Foundation presented the Pleasanton Weekly with its "Community Champion" award Wednesday night at its first annual Foundation Gala at the Palm Event Center, where more than 200 community leaders joined in a festive reception that also honored the Foundation's work.

It is appropriate that "Weekly" is honored. Ever since the newspaper was founded, it has provided a valuable tool for us to know what is going on. They could have stopped there but to bring in the Holiday Fund to support the community is "above and beyond...".

I congratulate the Pleasanton Weekly for a job well done.

This is not to take away from the award winners at all.
