You don't need a workshop or a meeting to determine that I-680 badly needs to be repaved between the Sunol Blvd. and Hwy. 84 interchanges.

It's the worst stretch of freeway in Alameda county, bar none.

Also, turn off the useless, ridiculous metering lights at the Sunol Blvd. on-ramp. They don't provide any benefit, and instead create massive traffic back-ups every weekday morning.

Do something about it!

Agree with I-680 commuter on both accounts. Completely repave the section between Sunol and 84, and remove the metering lights or let more cars thru with each green. Also, my pet peeve is, some people cant count to 2. Each green at the meter allows 2 cars (the sign is staring commuters in the face) but some folks cant seem to understand that. They wait for their own green after they let the car in front go thru!! This is further delaying the entry to I-680.

Agree - one of my car's rear shocks died an early death due to the numerous potholes on the far right lane of i680 between Sunol and Hwy 84. It's so terrible the tractor trailer rigs don't even drive in this lane.

North bound i680 going over the Sunol grade is getting just as bad.

Reading the Mr. Roadshow column, people are complaining about ruts and potholes over most of the Bay Area's freeways.

Those metering lights are ridiculous! I haven't been commuting in the mornings for the past 2 years so I was blown away by all the congestion on the streets. It took me nearly 45 minutes to get from one end of Pleasanton to the other!
