Main Street needs a sports bar ... yea! I'd be there for every game.

It would likely attract more bikers, which would discourage the entitlement groups from hanging out and selling drugs to our kids. I'm for it too!

I don't know about a sports bar. There are numerous restaurants downtown now. BUt there is a lock of shopping to bring people down to Main St. Palo Alto, Burlingame, Livermore all have a mix of retailers including chain stores. Trouble seems to be those on Main St. now don't want competition from anyone, let alone the Gap, and I don't know that those at the mall want to add to downtown. Seems to me the Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs are always packed because people come to shop and stop to eat. We go to Main St. only if we are eating out and want what is there; otherwise, we shop at the mall and stay if we are eating.

Livermore has two things, space and a plan. Main Street is basically one street with a few offsets. There isn't any space close to the size of the 1st Street Alehouse even available should someone wish to replicate it. Bottom line is that Livermore has a plan for its downtown and Pleasanton doesn't.

For me, Cheesecake Factory and Dennys sort of represents the class of Pleasanton. Incomparable cuisinery.

Nooooooooooooooooo! Not a sports BAR in our quaint, quiet & peaceful little town! Didn’t we just spend the better part of the last 15-20 years trying to rid our hallowed downtown of the last vestiges of the rowdy alcohol imbibing, inhibition lowering, heathen attracting institutions like this atrocity being proposed? I’ve come to love & embrace the renewed landscape of the downtown area with its multiple (upon multiple) health spa’s, day spa’s, hair/nail salons, boutique & specialty stores, banks (multiple again) & of course the ever revolving door of opening, closing, re-opening restaurants.

Seriously…if you think that the helicopter mommies & the usual suspect NIMBY’s wil ever allow a sports bar to be built downtown then I have a big orange bridge that I’d like to offer you. Just looking at the amount of criticism and public outcry that Barone’s had to endure when applying for their permit to conduct their outdoor concert series gives you a sense of the mentality towards such “bohemian” pursuits in this town. I can only hope that the soon-to-be opening Gastropub

in the former Pleasanton Hotel location can possibly change some peoples opinions regarding establishments of this nature. The days of the Pastime and the former “fight every night” British Pub (sorry forgot the name already) on Main St. do need to come to an end & hopefully a new generation of libation imbibing, merry-making establishments can fill their shoes.

Are you NUTS ??? we don't need a Sports Bar in Pleasanton. You see a bar in every corner right now. Look at the Red Coat..a hang out for kids that aren't out of diapers yet . Is this what we want our young people to start out their lives ??? we need a hood health family resturant.

Kids...parents with kids...healthy alternatives...? Grow up "Curious" get a babysitter for your little newfound baby Einsteins and let the grownups have a place where we can all gather together and have some serious ADULT (aka big people) conversation and social interaction.

"Health family restaurant"...??? Screw that, give me a 200 bottle wine list and a babysitter and we're there!

We ARE getting a micro-brew at the Pleasanton Hotel!!! Thank god, an adult place to go with . . . other adults. What a concept. We are done with raising the kids and would like another option.

I think what we really need is a Restaurant for all those Dogs people can't seem to leave at home for a couple of hours while they go downtown to eat! I'm with you Nosy neighbors, find a sitter for your Dogs too! Geez, I have 2 Dogs of my own but sometimes it's to much when you are walking around and have to worry about almost stepping on or tripping over some miniature this or that.
