Good place to board cats in Tri-Valley?

Original post made by Need a Recommendation, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Jul 16, 2011

Hi - Our family is going on a rare (for us) vacation out of town to visit relatives, and we'll need to board our two cats for 1 1/2 weeks. We had once boarded them for a long weekend at the Amador Pet Hospital on Main St., but weren't too impressed by either their customer service or the cages that the cats were kept in (although they didn't even want to show us where they'd be kept...)

I know one option is in-house pet-sitting, but my husband is leery of the security aspect of that, for the house.

Any recommendations of pet boarding in the area that you've been happy with, in particular, for cats? Maybe a place where they can lay in the sunshine during the day and not be cooped up all the time?

Thanks...

Happiness Country kennels in Sunol was great, but I haven't had a pet for a year now. I also know a trustworthy pet sitter.

Town and Country Vet. They have a wonderful cat Lady. You can visit the Cattery and see for yourself. If any one has a dog to board. This place is great. Have been going there for years. Have tried other places and have decided that a little extra money is worth the peace of mind. Our dog loves to see her friends at Town and Country Vet. At this time we do not have a cat, but if we did we would board there.
