Harp Extravaganza

Acclaimed professional harpist Celia Chan Valerio will be perform "For the Love of Harp" at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at the Firehouse Arts Center, 4444 Railroad Ave. Chan Valerio will present a lecture-performance based on her doctoral research on Felix and Jules Godefroid, pioneers for the harp during the 19th century. She will be joined by harpist Meredith Clark, performing the West Coast première of the brilliant Rhapsodie by Vierne, as well as the winners of the spring competition of the Bay Area Chapter of the American Harp Society. Is it ironic how the harpist last name is Valerio and she is performing at the firehouse? Seems San Francisco is about to bury a fireman with the same last name. sure no relation but just weird.
