  1. Club Sport thank you for supporting JDRF! However, you are misinformed if you think you can offer advice on the “prevention” of Juvenile Diabetes (aka Type 1 diabetes). Type 1 is not controlled or preventable by diet and exercise. Type 2, associated with obesity is controlled by diet and exercise. Please stop misinformation and understand the charity you are trying to support.

  2. Yes, much thanks to ClubSport for supporting JDRF and for helping to educate people about diabetes. However, a constant struggle is educating people about the differences between type 1 (juvenile) and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes an autoimmune disease for which there is no cure. It is not known what causes type 1 diabetes, so there’s certainly no way to prevent it — at least not that scientists have discovered.
Type 2 is the epidemic of diabetes that is sweeping our nation. It can usually be prevented with an improved diet and exercise. It is the only preventable form of diabetes.

  3. Ditto…thank you to ClubSport for supporting JDRF.
Type 1 diabetes, known as juvenile diabetes, is not governed by lifestyle. It is an autoimmune disorder in which the body attacks the beta cells in the pancreas that produce the hormone insulin.
There is NO PREVENTING TYPE 1 DIABETES.
