BREAKING NEWS: "Garamendi Couldn't Vote in District 10 (but won it)"

Chet,

Your argument about carpetbagging doesn't fly.

It is legal for a candidate in Calif to live outside the district...they only have to be a CA resident.

Are you serious? Harmer really doesn't live in our district? Why would anyone vote for this guy who doesn't even live where we live? He certainly can't represent my interest. I'm a Republican but I'm not voting for Harmer or that politician-wannabe college student who is running against Hayashi. [removed]

Devon,
Do you realize he lives one mile from the gerrymandered district? He spends as much time in Pleasanton as he does in his neighborhood. If you decide not to vote for him, that is certainly your perogative...but do not decide on this non-issue.

On this point, McNerney DOES live here YET DOESN'T LISTEN to his constituents!!! So the conclusion is that one's residence location doesn't translate into that person "representing your interests!"

Devon,
District 11 runs from Gilroy to Lodi. Would you feel more comfortable voting for a candidate from Lodi who lives in the District, but hasn't got a clue about Pleasanton?

I'll take Harmer. McNerney may be a nice guy, but I cannot get over his ducking his constituents during and after the healthcare debate.

Harmer does not live in the district and does not understand the district. When Harmer the loser ran in Dist 10 he made a big deal of the Democrat as not living in District 10. This loser carpetbagger Harmer can't even win in a district he lives in and then expects us in District 11 where he does not live to vote for him. No way we do not want Harmer as our Rep.

Chet,
Despite the fact that David Harmer and his entire family spend much of their normal day within the City of Pleasanton, I suppose if he moved a whopping one mile from their current residence to live within CD-11, he'd "learn SOOOO much more" about this district"!!!

PS...As a reminder, McNerney lives inside CD-11, yet he DOESN"T REPRESENT US, DOESN"T LISTEN TO US, DOESN"T HOLD IN-PERSON TOWNHALLS, etc. So living inside the CD boundary doesn't automatically translate into being a good representative!!!

You can't get past the point that Harmer is a loser. He can't even win in his own district. Our fine Congressman Jerry McNerney represents us very well. He works very hard on issues important to us in the District. You should know that Jerry was endorsed by a large group of elected officials in the district and local leaders in our district. They know how hard Jerry works for his district. We don't need a carpetbagger as our Rep when we have Jerry McNerney who is doing a great job.

Devon, google the district map, you will see he live just a couple miles up the road. Don't you ever go up to Whole Foods....same thing.
WE here in the TRI-VALLEY. Obviously, you were just spewing partisan DEM attacks !. You see the district goes down to MORGAN HILL, so you think they would represent you BETTER???? It's because of the screwy gerrymandered district lines. Obviously, you aren't to tuned in to your government (just pure POLITICS) so I hope you understand about politically gerrymandered districts. Of course we all know the district goes into the central valley way beyond Tracy. SO, YOU don't think anybody in San Ramon-Danville area would have anything in common with us ! ! BUT, somebody FARTHER SOUTH or EAST WOULD ?? ILLOGICAL !

Chet and Devon, So one of you whiners or I know, McNerney staffers got PW to phase down this thread, since there's too many lies are being challenged...so PW lapdogs started a new thread to see if they can ALARM new suckers. WHY or WHY isn't truth tolerated ??

So for you DISTANCE matters you should see that serious people who know what a fine job Jerry is doing for us all have strongly endorsed Jerry McNernery along with the PW. The are all correct.

Dublin, CA – Over forty local elected officials today offered their strong endorsement of Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11), citing his independence, accessibility, and commitment to improving care for veterans.

Congressman McNerney previously received bipartisan endorsements from 20 current and former Mayors and Supervisors including several high-ranking Republican elected officials. He was also recently endorsed by eighty local educators, including school board members and teachers who have come together as Educators for McNerney and over one hundred women who have joined together as Women for McNerney.

In total, Congressman Jerry McNerney has now been endorsed by 95 local elected officials. In contrast, his opponent, corporate lawyer David Harmer has only received 17 endorsements from local elected officials.

The list of elected officials endorsing Congressman McNerney today follows, as well as several statements of support.

Using Margret's logic, since I work in San Ramon I should be entitled to the rights of San Ramon citizens.

For the record, I was not wild about Garamendi living in another district. Garamendi is a good representative but Carpetbagging is still carpetbagging.
