Has it Been Six Months Since the Democrats Rammed Obamacare Down Our Throats?
By Lonely Conservative

My, how time flies! It’s been six months since the Democrats rammed Obamacare down our throats, as part of their plan to make us all dependents on the federal government. And what has Obamacare done for to us?

Insurance companies are dropping child only health care policies.

Insurance companies are raising rates higher than they would have if not for Obamacare.

If the law stands, eventually private insurance companies will go out of business, leaving us with a single payer system much like what they have in Great Britain. (One insurance company has already gone under.)

When you sell your home you’ll be charged an extra tax to cover the costs of Obamacare.

Businesses large and small will be hit with an onerus new 1099 reporting requirement.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services is threatening insurers who speak freely about Obamacare. She also wants to re-educate the rest of us about Obamacare.

Obamacare will increase the cost of health insurance, not decrease it as promised.

The government is now in the business of tracking our body weight, and encouraging pediatricians to drug our children.

Restaurants and vending machine operators are now forced to pay the cost of posting calorie counts on their menu items. (You know, because we’re all to stupid to figure out that a huge sandwich and large order of fries might be fattening.)

Colleges and universities might have to dump student health plans.

Some insurers have already stopped issuing policies to business associations – multiple businesses that team up to purchase insurance at group rates.

Some drugs are already being denied to cancer patients. The administration has admitted that health care will be rationed.

The federal government will be grossly expanded thanks to all the new regulations and taxes. Just look at how many new employees the IRS will need to hire, and that’s just one agency!

The much touted high risk pool may start turning sick people away. (I thought we needed health care reform to keep that from happening.)

Young health Americans will see their premiums skyrocket, and more employers will drop health insurance plans.

Federal dollars are being used to fund abortions.

Most of us will probably lose our health insurance plans, even if we like them.

Small businesses will be discouraged from hiring at a time when we need small businesses to hire!

Many surgeons are threatening to quit thanks to Obamacare. If you think there’s a doctor shortage now, just wait.

In time Americans will no longer be able to deduct health care costs.

If you decide not to purchase health insurance, the IRS can keep your tax refund.

Medical device makers are cutting back on production due to the new taxes on their products.

The federal government can take deductions from your paycheck to pay for long term care.

We were told there was no public option, but there is!

We the taxpayers got to foot the bill for a $700,000 Andy Griffith ad trying to sell us this crap sandwich.

All of the above, and a blatant abuse of power to pass it, and only 2 people in New Jersey signed up for the new coverage. Oh, and it’s going to cost a heck of a lot more than we were told.

But it’s not all bad, if you’re a pedophile your Viagara will be covered.

Did I miss anything?

I thought most people in Pleasanton were highly educated
--- this article proves that is no longer true!

Dear "Highly Educated" Dina,
Most highly educated people who would take the time to critique a posting would provide substantive information, including their source, to back up their critique.

What specifically do you find inaccurate about the initial post?

This was the lowest hanging fruit of the inaccuracies. I won't waste time with the rest. Let us know once you are serious about a discussion.

- Not accurate / misleading.

According to CNN health (Web Link)

The new law creates penalties in the tax code as an incentive.

An adult who does not have health insurance by 2014 would be penalized $95 or 1 percent of income, whichever is greater, so long as the amount does not exceed the price tag of a basic health plan. But by 2016, the penalty increases to $695 for an uninsured adult, and up to $2,085 per household, or 2.5 percent of income, whichever is greater.

and since you will be required to compute this amount on your tax return and submit the equivalent of a 1099 form stating how much you paid for your health insurance -- the statement is neither inaccurate nor misleading.

but thanks eversomuh for the reminder that none of the insurance provisions of obamacare kick in for four years for the average person

he trillion dollars in cost over 10 years for coverage of 6 years.

Yep and I wish the Democrats would have put in another provision:

If you cut off a limb while using a hand tool and you appear at the emergency room (and don't have insurance) the doctors should take what's left of you and use the parts to keep someone who did pay their fair share alive. That should pay for the insurance :-)

Enjoy your dinner.
