The library is looking for volunteers

Original post made on Aug 25, 2010

Pleasanton Public Library needs volunteers for its Homebound Service, which provides homebound residents with library books, videos and CDs to community residents. Also, the library hosts the Pleasanton Reads Project that needs volunteer tutors to provide one-on-one instruction in both basic literacy and English as a second language to residents over 18. Students and tutors usually meet once per week at a mutually convenient time and place. Tutoring and all necessary materials are free of charge. Contact Jan Bauman at 931-3411 or [email protected]

I have books that I hate to throw away. I am sure someone would get the enjoyment I did in reading them. Does the library except used books?

"Does the library except used books?"

Yes, sometimes they except used books, but more often, they accept them ;-)

...without the grammar lesson.

The Friends of the Library has a mini ongoing book and magazine sale in the library and then a larger sale several times a year.

Just drop off at the desk and tell them it's a donation. You'll also receive a receipt for your taxes.

I'm sure they will appreciate your generousity.
