Caltrans calls "Old Glory" graffiti

Original post made by Unbelievable, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Jul 3, 2010

It's hard to believe a 'nameless' CalTrans supervisor would give the order to paint over a rather sacred 9-1-1 flag on the Sunol grade hill....and that the workers would be stupid enough to do it.
I ache at the thought of all of us working several jobs to be able to pay all our assorted taxes to provide these nitwits with deluxe retirements that we can only fantasize about.
Thank you Arnold, for condeming Caltrans errors and working on a plan for commuters to get back their bright spot in a nasty commute.

There is nothing sacred about paint on concrete. The property did not belong to the painters.
It is ILLEGAL to deface private property.

Perhaps the "sacred" image should be painted on your home?

i rest my case...

Poor judgement none the less. This could have been done at any time, doing it on the weekend of the 4th of July shows poor judgement.

Defacing private property is illegal. If you like, I would be happy to deface your private property. Turnabout is fair play.

i rest my case...

Cholo, "nothing sacred about paint on concrete". Oh, REALLY ?? So it's not that flag gets your allegiance ? That sure explains your anti-American talk IS for real !

No one is contesting whether or not Caltrans had the right to paint over the flag - what is being questioned is the choice in timing for re-painting it.

In my HUMBLE opinion, some Plutonians have a very very very very rich fantasy life!

The affect of the whiner's is too intense for the issue to be about "timing"...doesn't fly!

"The affect of the whiner's is too intense...."

This doesn't even make sense.....then again, neither does the source of the statement.

The affect of folks that don't mind defacing private property is too intense for what I've posted.

It seems to me that a cool-off period is indicated.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

It is graffiti and the painters should have been nailed when it was done originally. At least when it was painted, a tv news crew taped them so it could be used in court for defacing state property.

Just as bad as people flying those flags on their homes. Distracts from the scenery.

Whenever I visit Plutonia, I do not want to see flags on the ridge!

Cholo,

I bet you would be upset if it was a pepper belly flag.
