Thank goodness Jerry McNerney is our Congressman and he made the right vote YES on Health Care Reform. This is the right vote for all of us in District 11 and the right vote for America. Thank you Jerry McNerney!!!!

Well now there is a surprise more Republicans who don't want the middle class to have insurance. They two drank that magically grape juice that made Republicans so smart after 8 years of being blind and dumb. Can't wait for the fools to let them lead us into another war(maybe Canada this time) and turn a blind eye to more businesses like Enron, Aig, wall street, banks, etc. Go ahead fools keep voting them in and you two will be a victim, it is only a matter of time.

" collect 1 million signatures..." That's approximately .004, or .4%, of the U.S. population. Big deal. There are 1MM Republicans and other conservatives alone. Not impressive. At least 5MM would be a great start.

It's another publicity stunt. He's afraid of Whitman...

I'm not for Poizner. But...Health Care ? ?..not ALL of it. Why was removing college loans tucked in the 2000 pages??? How is that health care. It was a trojan horse intended to con us..AND, for history to show the intentional black assistance for pushing blacks into college and LIMITING opportunity for MIDDLE-class youth. It would have not survived debate as a separate bill. It discriminates against high cost of living BayArea..Arbitrary one size for all LIMITS based on NATIONAL charts are UNfair to us. Pelosi, McNerney, Miller, not one BayArea REP protected us ! Incomes & cost of houses here are several times greater than in Memphis, Toledo, & Tulsa. But chart LIMITS make our students INeligible. Obama's new program pours $90 BBil specifically into black colleges, & MORE Pell GIFTS, but now stopped banks from giving college loans to families. PellGrants go to those parents UNDER $50 K...designed for inner-city single moms. A NoCal 2 parent, reduced furlough pay family, struggling to continue house payments, cannot get an equity loan, since value is now $60K below their good fixed bank mortgage. So team Obama says screw those 3 boys that are ready for college..This is HIGH $$ table area..even Cal & Stanford say NO to $120,000. couples, tho tuition is impossible on $120K. honor roll white males can only attend 2 yrs Community. Kids of people that don't work or provide for self, continue to get free lunches,& free rides right into the best LUCKY they are !!
Why is discriminating against middle-class by removing college loans, spending on black colleges, and pushing inner-city super poor into a 'health care'' bill ? ? ? ? ? So even IF it was a great HEALTH care bill, the 'education' portion makes 'THE' bill evil discrimination, bad for the future of this country and this high school-college age generation...further pulling America into 3rd world status, intentionally leaving out high-cost area, middle-class white males...while our Univ bring in MORE international students. That's what innane government across the board charts do. Even low salaries & cheap houses in NoCal are several times greater than in Memphis,Toledo, & Tulsa, sorry all of our No Cal representatives are either too ignorant, too rich, or just Obama such a RUSH, to care or to speak up, represent NoCal residents. Why did the government go to such lengths to create injustices ?

I honestly feel your frustration, but I am not sure that all that you are saying is really true. The problems with our colleges and universities being so very underfunded comes, in large part, from the last 8 years of Republican leadership. That university employees (of which I am one myself) are facing 7-8% paycuts via the furlough days is not Obama's fault. And the re-tooling of the student loan model will actually *save* money and allow for MORE money to be available to MORE families because the middle-man, the greedy banks, are eliminated.

Again, I do understand your frustration, but please look at some of the facts and apply for those loans IF your child/children have actually been accepted at the institutions that have been seriously gutted by the lack of funding as the result of the crash.

TO can't..... Your OMISSIONS are the size of the Grand Canyon. You also talk about the saved money going to more families....but neither you not Obama address the students (families) that can no longer get any student loans. Don't confuse with irrelevancies about costs of education, which are a different problem. I am addressing the picking and choosing, and favoritism, and REdistribution among groups, with the government doing the choosing !!! SOME selected/designated GROUPS get loans, some don't. SOME selected/designated GROUPS get GRANTS, some don't, liking banks or not is not the question,.,.it is the REMOVAL of available ACCESS of any student to GET a LOAN that is this new assult on the right to a college education...LOAN sources that the new all knowing Big Brother has taken from us ! Yes, I understand the new con of SAVING the bank underwriting $$ and REdistrubuting to black colleges, and the MANY more GRANTS (gifts) to the inner-city super poor. AGAIN, I shall restate, the rights of MIDDLE-income, high-cost areas, to be allowed to obtain STUDENT payback LOANS !!!!!Middle-class kids are having rights taken from them and this country will suffer the loss of some bright students in the process. You know the above average, but not brilliant, and from the above average family...a family that doesn't even have a funded retirement plan...but paying the bills. THIS is the TRANSFORMATION of AMERICA ! ! !
SO, STOP with the drank the kool-aid without reading the 2000 pages !
