Here we go again...

Original post made by JimflQ1, Pleasanton Village, on Apr 5, 2010

First we have the House Republicans who were for a single-payer health plan before they were against it.

Then we had Palin, who was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it.

And for a long time it's been the party of family values--if by "values" you mean marital infidelity, wide stances, texting male interns, etc.

Now we have John McCain saying he isn't really a maverick.

From the Party of No to the Party of Yes-then-no. Or better yet, the neo-flipfloppers.

Where will it end?

It's a strategy of point:counter-point ... the point it NOT to make a point ... but be AGAINST the opposition's point. So to counterpoint is the objective regardless of content. It's also the basis of poor critical thinking skills and to be honest a lot of ignorance ... ignorance causes more than any other value we cherish in America ... no, please, don't tell me we do not value ignorance ... point:counterpoint is a perfect example of its nature.
