Is shilling for a web site free advertising?

Original post made by Nurse Shark, Canyon Creek, on Mar 31, 2010

It occurs to me that a certain person has been actively marketing a for-profit opinion site here via numerous threads every single day for quite some time now.

Is this okay? Can others promote their web sites on countless threads?

Clearly it's a marketing strategy. How about it, PW editors?

Hi Nurse Shark,
Web links for commercial sites are against the terms of use. When you see a post with that type of link, please hit the "Report Objectionable Content." The editor and I will be sent an email that shows the post in question. There are hundreds of posts every day on this forum and sometimes those get by us. We would appreciate your help.
