Well, the Health Bill has passed and turns out to be a toothless (albeit it expensive) tiger. Other issues dim in comparison, so I guess it's time we get back to being peaceful in Pleasanton and talk about local issues that put us back on a CENTRIC track. For example, I never hear anything about our Mayor. Is she doing a good job? I don't know. How about Main Street? Is it doing okay? How about the library? Are the kids still acting up? Has anyone been to the Rose lately? It's a rocking place. There's got to be local issues that are exciting. Hey, Jerry Brown for governor. Just trying.

You mentioned Obamacare is a "toothless" tiger. Hope you are flossing these days because "toothless" is what you, I and others might be under Obamacare someday because we cannot receive proper dental due to rationing.

Check this out from UK's national health system...

"Man pulls out 13 of his own teeth with pliers 'because he couldn't find an NHS dentist"

article >>> Web Link

(PS...You must be a kool aid salesman. If not, they could use you. Don't you realize that Obama and his Czars specifically designed Obamacare not to take effect for four years because he doesn't want the public to realize immediately what a disaster it is. He would prefer to win a second term (God forbid) before Americans feel the full disastrous effect of it. )

The Daily Mail is known for its outrageous and frequently wrong stories. They're like the Enquirer or Fox News in the U.S.

Amy ... my point is that there is no there there ... there is no impact. The insurance companies are finding ways around the plan, people with no insurance will continue to have no insurance ... and like the bank fiasco, only the rich make out on the deal with more government bureaucracy to guard the hen house. The Right should understand the real problem is that they believe in myths and the left doesn't understand that they just got the shaft. POINT: the health care issue didn't solve anything, it didn't make things worse or better ... let's get down to the real issues. Right now it's who is telling the bigger lie.

No there there? Tell that to the 1000's of people who just lost their jobs at Caterpillar, Att and other companies as a direct result of Obamacare passing. (you moron).

Stacey is a registered user.

Nice try, Miguel, but these posters aren't interested in local issues.

Real damage will be felt for decades. For some twisted reason, college loan changes were in the 2000 pages we could never see in the HEALTH BILL ! Go figure !! Eliminating college loans for MIDDLE-class students will impact the future of our country. BBillions of $$$ were added for black colleges and PELL GRANTS (free GIFTS). More $$ were added to increase numbers of PELL and increase Pell amounts. BUt MIDDLE-income kids are NOT ALLOWed TO RECEIVE PELL GRANTS...AND students can no longer get private COLLEGE loans. And if Mom and DAD are working on reduced furlough pay... MIDDLEs just have to forget school. Kids would be so much better off to be in a POOR family, then they could get an all FREE education. RIch go, POOR go, middle NO....NO Bay Area Representatives care or even bothered to give it a thought that Bay Area incomes are DIFFERENT than Cleveland, Memphis, & Tusla ...all Bay Area middle-class are called RICH and NOT eligible for an education like the poor of the country are able to recieve.
