Do you think that certain posters may in fact be working for the insurance industry or the GOP to try to stir things up?

Have a nice weekend.
can we all just get along?
does that mean rush is going to come and molest my children like he does on his pleasure cruises to Puerto Rico. Or is he going to pump my kids full of oxycotin until he induces deafness like he did to himself?...OH THE HORROR!
oh...i am so escair to...
Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
There is nothing grass roots about the GOP. Everything they do is calculated. Every heard of Karl Rove?
Far right extremist Republicans are indeed scary. But then far left lesbians are scary too (or the Pink gang out in Berkeley). My son said to relax because this was democracy at work. He noted that in all the turmoil in America no politician has been injured, no one killed in marches, so that all-in-all we are generally a peace loving nation.
I don't believe those extreme right-wing posters on this forum are paid agitators. For me, that would be less scary than the knowledge that there have always been, and probably always will be, people who blindly follow those who feed their fears and insecurities.
Sadly, as we've seen so many times in history, and now recently in town halls, at tea parties, and on the radio/TV, political pundits have become very good at "making you afraid of it, and telling you who's to blame for it". They "gather a group of middle age, middle class, middle income voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family, and American values and character, and you . . . scream about patriotism." ("The American President"). Funny how art imitates life.
Too many on this forum, who parrot the opinions of their favorite pundit and call it research, have proven that the more you ask them to take a hard look at the source of their information, the more zealous in its defense they become. Not only do they not question the motive of the pundit they’re repeating, they have no interest in digging below the surface to look at real data (like the Constitution, what the founding fathers actually said on an issue, what’s written in the HCR bills) because, as “Pleasanton Mom” has said, “It’s not important.”
This unwillingness to look beyond the surface of what a favorite political pundit has provided as gospel is evident in not only this latest round of HCR bashing, but in the spread of mis-information like the fictitious “death panels”, ban on sport fishing, and Kenyan birth certificate. The most recent hoax is a GOP-leaked “internal Democratic memo” regarding the upcoming health reform vote.
This kind of zealousness, seen, for example, in the followers of charismatic cult leaders, is making itself evident in the way that posters have imbued their position on the issues with a fanatical view in which God is on the side of the "right people", the only "true Americans", "patriots" standing together to fight the "evil" socialist/Marxist/communist/nazi/statist Democrats that are out to “destroy America”. Like I said, scary.
That said, Martin’s son is right. This IS “democracy at work”, and it's up to all of us Americans, no matter what your race, ethnicity, religious or spiritual beliefs, political persuasion, or sexual identity, to determine where we've been, where we are and where we want to go as a country. The hard part is balancing left and right extreme, moderate and centrist views to come up with a well-run government that works most of the time for each and every one of us - not just those of the conservative, tea party persuasion who consider themselves the only "true" Americans, patriots with the only "right" view, the only "good" guys. We, America and Americans, are so much more than that narrow paradigm.
I just heard a very lovely talk from President Obama and he said things are gonna be all around bettah...
Yup...by Monday, the health reform bill will have passed and all US residents can look forward to health care...even ILLEGALS! TEE HEE HEE, TEE HEE HEE...
I am so tickled...who is gonna pay...you are! hahahahahahahhaa...i am grateful to the tea baggers for working so hard, now they can pay pay pay and i don't mean maybe!!!
get those checks a-crackin'
What world do you actually live in?
To think that the Silent Majority has been so silent and has endured without loud complaint for so long, that when a truly importnat issue arises and it begins to voice the rational thoughts of logical thinkers, you believe it is a CONSPIRACY???
Has political correctness become so prevalent that to call things like they really are is viewed as impossible.
The fact that we do not comment on the touch feely crap - everyone's feelings about this and that - the rainbow coalition's impositions - the endless posturing and finger pointing at the awful conservatives - should not be taken as a sign that we do not exist.
We are still here. And when it matters - Like with this health care bill catastrophe which will ruin our healthcare system and bankrupt our country unless repealed after the next congressional election - we will be heard.
And while we are about the job of taking back power and straightening this mess out maybe we'll also take the time to fix some of the other crap that you have imposed on us too!

That's hilarious. So, um, Dan, hate to break it to you, but from 95-2006, you guys controlled the house of representatives and senate. From 2000-2006 you controlled all 3 branches of government. During that time, your guys got us into 2 wars, spending over 2 trillion dollars on tragic misadventures that your guys claimed would cost no more than 100 billion, tops. Your guys passed the largest tax decrease on the wealthy in the history of the world...1.8 trillion over 10 years. Together, that's 4 trillion in spending. Your guys doubled the national debt from 5.5 trillion to over 11 trillion. Your guys let an entire city flood and did nothing about it. So you claim after 18 months of the dems in control of all 3 branches, during which they passed an economic stimulus that directly lead to 6% GDP growth last quarter and lowered monthly job losses from 750,000 per month in january 09, when your guy left office, until last month when it dropped to barely over 30k/mo and this month is projected to have JOB GAINS, and now HCR about to be passed which will bring health insurance to over 31 million uninsured and lower the deficit by 128 billion over 10 years and 1.2 trillion over 20 years...after all that you're going to 'straighten this mess out'...what does that mean, your guys are gonna take over and triple the national debt instead of doubling it? The level of stupid in your posts is overwhelming...i'm amazed you can even type it out...admit it, you're dictating this to your family dog...
anti-stupid. the word is "disingenous". the far right are those kinds of people because they have a portion of their brain blocked off from recognizing reality.
