Black Tea Party Express Tour Team Member Experienced Racism

I traveled on the Tea Party Express tour bus as a singer/songwriter, entertainer and spokesperson; 16 states, 34 rallies in two weeks. I experienced vicious racial verbal attacks, not from the tea party protesters. The racial hate expressed against me all came from the left, people who support President Obama's radial socialist agenda.


Unfortunately, my deleted email box is littered with numerous messages expressing the following:


"You are the dumbest self hating f****** n***** I have ever seen!"


These racists are outraged by my opening lines I boldly proclaimed at each rally. "Hello my fellow patriots! I am NOT an African-American! I am Lloyd Marcus, AMERCIAN!"


At every rally, my proclamation inspired great applause and cheers of joy and approval from the audiences. After each rally many came to me with tears in their eyes. They said, "I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you said. I am Irish (or Italian, or Asian) American. And yet, I would never hyphenate. I feel hyphening divides us. While it is fine to honor one's origin, let's all be American first".


The tea party audience's passionate response to my proclamation was a surprise to me. I did not know so many Americans disapproved of hyphenating pushed on us via political correctness.


I rejected hyphenating years ago. One day I woke up and heard I was no longer black, I was African American. Anyone rejecting the new term was called ignorant, insensitive and an Uncle Tom -- if you are black. Not intending to be provocative or controversial, I casually stated that I am not a hyphenated American, but simply an American at a tea party. The audience's cheers of approval were surprising and heartwarming.

As I said, I am a singer, songwriter, entertainer and columnist using my gifts to spread the message that conservatism is best for all Americans. Liberals' response to my YouTube videos, columns and performances on the Tea Party Express have been extremely racist, vicious and hate-filled. In their incredible arrogance, they vilify me for loving my country and not viewing myself as a victim of white America. In the sick minds of liberals, as a black man in America, I must support President Obama regardless of his policies. I must resent white America. I must feel entitled to the earnings of other Americans. My belief that my success or failure is totally in the hands of myself and my God is anathema to them.


As to the claim that the tea party protesters are racist, they are not. Quite the opposite. At every rally, with thousands in attendance, I was overwhelmingly showered with affection and thanks for standing up for America. At one rally, a sign read, "Lloyd Marcus for President". These protesters are not racist. They are decent hard working ordinary Americans who love their country and disapprove of the radical changes planned by the Obama administration. Race is not an issue with them. They have deep concerns for their country.


Disgustingly, Obama-ites use race to silence the protesters. They know it is an effective weapon to use against decent people. Ironically, the people the Obam-ites call racist are the same people who hate hyphenating. They want to be united as Americans.


The grand finale of the Tea Party Express Tour took place Saturday, September 12 in Washington DC at the U.S. Capitol. I performed my song, Twenty Ten. The crowd of over a million loved it. C-Span posted my performance on YouTube. Shamefully, C-Span had to delete the hate-filled racist comments posted by Obama supporters in response to my performance. Why do so-called tolerant and compassionate liberals think it is OK to freely use the "N" word when referring to blacks who escape the "liberal plantation"?


Despite Obama-ite's hideous charges of racism, this amazing tea party movement is driven by passion, concern and love of country by the American people. A Tea Party Express "whistle stop" in Mt. Vernon, Texas epitomized the mood of the movement.


We were late leaving our Dallas, Texas rally. We would arrive late at our rally in Memphis, Tennessee. The decision was made to cancel the road side "whistle stop" in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Besides, it was only suppose to be a brief stop for a few folks to tour the bus, take pictures and give us homemade treats. Then, we received the call, "You MUST stop. There are a lot of people here!" The State Police lead our Tea Party Express Tour bus into a crowd of 500 to 800 cheering excited people. They treated us like rock stars. Totally unprepared, the truck with our sound system was on its way to Memphis. We did not have a sound system or a stage.


We made our way through the crowd to the bed of a pick up truck. National radio talk show host Mark Williams, blue star mom Deborah Johns, singer Diana Nagy, the Rivoli Revue (Ron and Kay) and I climbed on board. Someone handed Mark a bull horn which he used to encourage the extremely enthusiastic crowd. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and Diana lead in the singing of "God Bless America". Many in the crowd were sobbing. Then they showered us with thanks, hugs, bottled water, bags of shacks and homemade treats. I thought, "How many angry racist mobs bake and bring brownies and overwhelm a black guy with affection and hugs?"


Once back on the bus, our team struggled to hold back tears. We felt humbled, honored and blessed. Though extremely well received at each rally, this "whistle stop" drove home the passion, love of country, and importance of our mission to preserve and Take Back America!


The Tea Party protesters are hard working decent people who love their country and want us all united as Americans. I am highly offended that this evil administration seeks to divide us, not just by race, but also by class envy. As I said to many of the audiences along the Tea Party Express bus tour, "I love you. Stay strong. Do not allow their calling you a racist to shut you up! Stand up for America. God bless you. And God bless America!"

Do Angry Mobs Bake and Bring Brownies?

Lloyd Marcus wrote this article from the road while traveling with the Tea Party Express:

Since Aug. 28th in Sacramento, CA, I have been traveling across America performing on the Tea Party Express tour. Patriots are attending by the thousands, families, grandparents and kids. Everyone extremely enthusiastic, grateful and concerned for their country.

The liberal media is calling them extremists, racists, ignorant and an angry mob. I am the only black performer on the team and the affection from the attendees has been overwhelming. Black conservative authors Selena and William Owens are traveling with us as speakers. Kenneth Gladney, the black conservative beaten by SEIU thugs is touring with us also telling his story. The American people have embraced us with huge loving open arms of brotherhood. If you love America, as the song says, “We Are Family”.

One stop was particularly moving. After a rally with thousands, we were headed to our next rally. A whistle stop was schedule because a few folks really wanted to say hello. We were running late and decided to cancel the whistle stop. Then we got the call. “You must stop. There are a lot of people here.” The state police guided our bus into a crowd of 500 to 800 people along side the highway.

They cheered and treated us like rock stars. They showered us with hugs, food, homemade cookies, brownies and gifts. Nothing expense, but overflowing with their love. We used the bed of a pick up truck as a stage and spoke through a bull horn. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang “God Bless America”. Many in the crowd were sobbing.

When our team got back on the bus, our emotions were high. We have gotten rave reviews and affection at every rally. But this whistle stop did not have a sound system or great speeches. These people were extremely grateful that we were traveling across America to Washington DC as their voice. We felt humbled and blessed to be their representatives and a part of American history.

These folks are not racists, nor are they an angry mob. They are hard working decent American people who love their country and do not want it changed into something unrecognizable. Angry mobs do not bake and bring brownies.

WOW! So you have one minority in your Tea Party ranks! What a melting pot! I guess that makes up for the fact that the rest of the Tea Party is 99.9% white and amazingly ignorant. Good luck trying to mainstream right-wing hate. We can see right through you.

When I discovered Lloyd Marcus' website (by accident during an internet search), I spent three hours reading every article he wrote. Then I couldn't wait to attend a Tea Party and possibly get the chance to meet him, shake his hand, maybe get a photo with him, and THANK him for his love for America and his efforts to stop the destructive Obama agenda. I did get that chance at the Tea Party Express event in Sacramento August 2009. I love the photo of him and I in front of the Capitol building. I continue to read and love every article that he writes.

You're A Racist! The Ultimate Emotional Intimidation

I am on the email list of a dear black friend of 20 years. He is a minister, writer and professor. He has mentored and advised me with great wisdom on numerous occasions. With me being a black conservative Republican and he a Democrat, we avoid talking politics. Since the election of Obama, my friend will talk about nothing else. He is in Baltimore. I'm in Florida. Every time he calls me, he turns the conversation into trashing all who oppose Obama's agenda. Thank God for caller ID.


I received a mass email from my friend in which he vilifies the Christian community for not chastising ministers who speak against Obama and for not attacking Sarah Palin. He said the Republicans used Palin as their "attack dog against Obama." He said watching a McCain/Palin rally was like watching a KKK lynch mob and he personally heard the crowds yelling, "kill him," referring to Obama. Folks, my dear friend is a liar.


In 2008, I traveled the U.S. attending forty rallies on the national "Stop Obama Tour" with Our Country Deserves Better PAC. Not once, did I hear any violent or racist comments. Seeing through his smooth speeches and charisma, people were simply terrified of what was to come with an Obama victory.


Behind all of my friend's intellectual yada, yada, yada, festers a deep hatred for the rich and white people. In a conversation, he said with great glee that Obama was going to "reign in Wall Street" and CEO's salaries should be limited to $500,000 per year. I thought, "Who the heck are you to dictate how much someone should be permitted to earn. This is America. The sky's the limit."


Anger caused me to write a passionate reply to my friend's hate filled email. I stated numerous reasons why Obama's agenda and the health care bills are wrong for America.


Included was abortion. Fifty percent of black babies are aborted. (BlackGenocide.org) Also, Obama voted three times against protecting babies who survive an abortion. So, how does my black minister friend justify supporting Obama. And why does he consider anyone opposing Obama's policies non Christian, racist or an Uncle Tom if you are black?


Ready to hit "reply all," I remembered the White House requested all emails against ObamaCare be forwarded to them. I thought, why give them more ammo to attempt to shut me up? The folks on my friend's liberal email list are all infected will Obama Brainlock Syndrome. They do not want to know the truth. In the current climate set by our "I'm gonna make you a Health Care offer you can't refuse" president, I could be setting myself up for physical attacks.


Many sincere white Americans thought by electing a black president America could never again be characterized as a "racist country." Shamefully, this characterless administration betrayed Obama voters by exploiting race, using it as a tool to implement their far left agenda. If you don't agree with everything Obama wants, you must be a racist. Rather than the election of America's first black president bringing the races together, Obama's administration is tearing us apart. They will continue to play the tired, old and tattered geriatric "race card" as long as it is effective.


Folks, please, please, please do not fall for it. The stakes are far too high. Boldly speak the truth and stand up for what you know in your hearts to be right for America. Obama wants to redistribute wealth, punish achievers, decide who lives or dies and control as much of our lives as possible. It is just that simple. His must be stopped. Do not allow yourselves to be manipulated and intimidated for fear of being called "racist."


Ironically, "Black Racism" has blinded my long time friend as well as many other black Americans from seeing beyond Obama's skin color. MLK would not be proud.

Why is it that liberals that are constantly fomenting racial issues? It’s because it is part of their agenda to bring down our capitalist system and replace it with a socialist system ruled by a small group of elitists. To do that, they believe they have to get African Americans and Hispanics to vote for them by a huge margin, and constantly pulling the race card is the way they have chosen to do that. Of course, once they gained control, the African Americans and the Hispanics would get treated like peons.

So please take your racism-perpetuating ways along with you and move to any number of socialist paradises like Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela or North Korea.

ENOUGH with the Race Thing!

Race! Race! Race! As the kids say, "Gag me with Race!" I just read my Republican Senator Mel Martinez's statement on why he is voting to confirm Sonia Sotomayor:


"Given her judicial record, and her testimony this week, it is my determination that Judge Sotomayor is well-qualified to serve as Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

"Judge Sotomayor is knowledgeable of the law, would be a fair and impartial judge, and seems to have a good understanding of the limited role the judiciary plays in our democracy.

"Judge Sotomayor's rise to the Supreme Court is testimony to the fact that the American dream continues to be attainable. As an Hispanic American, I take great pride in Judge Sotomayor's historic achievement. Given her qualifications and testimony this week, I intend to vote in favor of her confirmation."


Excuse me Mel, but the woman is a leftist who will make decisions based on her "feelings" rather than the law. So as a supposed Republican, why the heck would you vote for her? Is it because she is Hispanic? When will we ever get past race in this country?


Voting for Sotomayor simply because she will be the first Hispanic is the same racist reason many voted for Barack Obama. Studies and polls proved that many voters did not have a clue, nor did they care what Obama would do once in office. His black skin color trumped everything. "Let's vote for the handsome well spoken black Santa Claus. This will kill two birds with one stone. One, it will prove we are a progressive country. Two, he promises to screw the rich. Cool!"


Annoyingly, even conservatives kept congratulating me on our first black president. I know they meant well. But what I was hearing is "This man is going the destroy our country, but you should be proud Lloyd because he is black like you".


While proclaiming race should not matter, the Democrats are notorious for making everything about race. Everywhere Democrats go, they immediately count black faces. If the ratio to whites is not high enough, they break out their "racist" rubber stamp.


I remember when the Democrat race exploiters attacked Major League Baseball because not enough blacks were attending the games. Why should MLB be burdened with getting blacks to attend? Are they expected to come up with a racist stereotypical campaign like,"Yo, Ya'll Come"! The Democrats would probably love such a stereotypical campaign as they tend to perceive "authentic" blacks as lovers of rap music and guests on the Maury show having a DNA test to determine the father of the child of a woman who has slept with twenty men.


I was in the audience at a county grant review hearing. These elderly white veterans were seeking a grant for their museum which displays and restores WWII airplanes. The grant panel lectured and chastised them because not enough African Americans attended their museum. I spoke with the veteran gentlemen outside. They said, "We have tried to get African Americans to attend, but they seem uninterested". They even asked me to be on their board. No thanks, my plate is pretty full. It was unsettling witnessing these veterans humiliatingly put on the defensive attempting to counter the panel's implied charge of racism.


I am president of a non profit Arts Center. A grant required that we list the percentages of every ethnic group we have serviced. I thought, I cannot do this because we do not keep those kinds of records nor do we even think of such nonsense. We simply serve our community, red, yellow, black and white, helping working class artists to fulfill their creative dreams.


"So sorry 12 year old Sarah. You wrote a wonderful song to you terminally ill dad, but we can not record it because you are white and it would throw off our racial percentages for this quarter".


It makes me so crazy that Republicans are so successfully branded as racists, while in reality, the party built on exploiting race and minorities is the Democrats.


OK, I realize I wandered a bit. Back to Sotomayor. The fact that she is Hispanic or female should not matter. The only relevant question should be, "Will this nominee uphold the Constitution?"


We must stop allowing race to trump reason and common sense. The stakes are far too high. I am talking about the future of America and our children. Do we want them living in a world with racial quotas. Or, a world similar to the TV show Star Trek, where all that matters is integrity and excellence in what you do?

Most pundits prefer to give Tea Party members cover as being "fed up with Washington", yet they've put up with "Washington" and "government intrusion" on their lives for years. It's only now, with the first African American President that they are so "fed up" they must take to the streets, march on Washington, rally, protest, carry guns, etc. They've been miraculously healed of their cowardice and all of the heretofore hidden "backbones" have finally emerged. I always wondered why, even when Obama is proposing legislation to help the "middle-class", these people are still opposed to it. Think about it: Where are the former members of the KKK, White Citizens Council, et al? The organizations may now be "inactive" but what happened to the members? Seems to me that if they wanted to go after this President, without exposing their true intent, it would make sense for them to join with those of "like mind", under the banner of an organization with a seemingly innocuous name.

Those that put down the TEA Party movement are in fear of it and most likely have never been to these patriotic, American-loving events.

Racist? Not even worth responding to such an ignorant view as that. The liberals seem to often pull that card out when they have nothing better to do. Yawn.

Come check us out on April 15th, 2010 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds--oh wait, no, your closed mind may then be opened to the American way of thinking...as we stand for fiscal responsibility, getting back to respecting the Constitution, not being taxed to death, non-socialistic Health Care reform, and LIMITED government.

NOT that you would be interested in any of that.

I'm shocked at how much time "Pleasanton Mom" seems to have to highlight her agenda on these threads (even hijacking a thread as with this one).

Pleasanton Mom, maybe you can keep it to your own words rather than pasting entire articles written by people you admire - or even pasting them in a new thread altogether? That way we can see your contributions (maybe fewer of them, so others with busier lives can be heard as well) without hyperbole extended from an outside source - and the originator of threads that you don't agree with can still be heard as well.

I was interested in the original article, but lost interest in the discussion following given your overzealous propensity toward the copy/paste function = a real disappointment. When you say "I couldn't help myself" in referencing posting yet another (entire) article to a thread, maybe you could try a bit harder?

Its amazing how the "liberal progressive left" always trumps the "race card" whenever they can't or won't debate the issues...race is how they keep their power base "in shackles". We all know that the "left" is color blind, except for Harry Reid and maybe Chris Matthews.
They always use the race issue to their "benefit" whether it exists or not...WARREN BALLENTINE called JUAN WILLIAMS (of all people) a "PORCH MONKEY" on national television, oh wait, there was nothing racial there, they were two African Americans.

I would try to give a thoughtful response to Cesca's "thoughtful and honest" article, but it is neither thoughtful nor honest.

Cesca removes all credibility by using the pejorative teabagger throughout the piece.

Even if you remove that, his primary argument is "when you strip away all of the rage, all of the nonsensical loud noises and all of the contradictions, all that's left is race."

That's a complete copout right there, because it is just another way of saying echo chamber wingnuts extremists bla bla bla.

OK, here is Cesca's real attempt at "deconstructing" the Tea Party anger:
She claims to be against the bank bailouts, but the tea party is against the president's bank fee designed to recover the TARP money. They also appear to be against financial regulatory reform. None of this makes any sense. If tea partiers are against the bailouts, basic logic dictates that they ought to be in favor of getting the money back.

Complete nonsense. So because Tea partiers are against corporate welfare via intervention in the banking system, we should be for additional regulation via intervention in the banking system?

Cesca attempts clever criticisms like comparing Tea partiers to the original Boston Tea Party. Does the man understand symbolism? Can someone explain to the guy that TEA means Taxed Enough Already?

OK, here Mr Cesca, let me help you out with your initial premise: "Imagine daily Kos getting a serious profile in a mainstream newspaper, and imagine serious Democratic politicians appearing at their convention."
Oops, wait a minute, we don't have to imagine. They DO and the Democrats DO appear at their convention regularly.

Tea parties have nothing to do with race. I do not like nor support tea parties. Many are recycled christian coalition of the last decade. That's why they willingly oppose mainstream candidates and run their own loser candidates....ones that have passed their 'Voter Guide' social purity test. There are some new tax fighters that are mixed in giving strength....so the old crusaders masquerade along with the new tax fighters...because they do also agree with tax fighting.

If you've been to a TEA Party, or a Tea Party Express Event, it's an uplifting, inspirational experience. We celebrate our beautiful country, and what we were founded on. It's a 4th of July celebration at every event... everyone celebrates Independence Day right? It's a love for our Country, our Constitution, principals, morals and values in this country... and yes, that does mean God too... there is no racism involved... it's Americans of all nationality and color coming together, standing shoulder to shoulder... We The People, coming together as one.....United We Stand.

Patriot, don't confuse God with christian coalition...two VERY different things. You go a bit too far with principals, morals, and values (whose?)...those freedoms are up to and for each citizen. True limited government is limited to Constitutional 'laws'.
Most people would share in constitutional and taxation issues. Many good groups go wrong when going off course OR too far.

Rebrand half the conservative ideology in order to back build support for the resurgence of the republican brand.

The republicans are not in any danger to be overrun by Tea Party candidates. The Tea Party is just a the latest fad in American conservatism.

This is the wedge of cheese to lure the righteous semiconscious Faux news junkie to the polls.

The party is over for the progressives. It's simple math. Too many people getting supported by too few. California is the next Greece... welfare nanny states that end up going bankrupt because the oppressive government CONFISCATES more and more from the productive, and in the process destroys incentives for production and investment, thus leading to a smaller and smaller tax base.

The left needs to learn some math. There are not enough "rich" people to pay for all of your liberal pipe dreams.

The November elections will be a huge shift in the direction of the country towards fiscal responsibility. Bank on it.

YOUR CHILDREN are beating up taxi drivers, buying drugs, harassing other students, being rude, loud and disruptive within our communities across the nation.

You attempt to control and divide your own neighborhood.

To preach a moral agenda, while your own people cheat on their spouses, rob mainstream America blind in greed and your sons main and kill innocent woman and children, in the name of "doing GODS work" in the middle east and "protecting our FREEDOMS.

Most see right through you folks, your severely flailing hypocritical party and agenda, the farthest for any "MORAL" decency.
