Pleasanton Library English Conversation

The Pleasanton Public Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave., offers free English conversations classes from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays. Call 931-3411.

Hooray! Learning English is something that surely needs to be encourcaged. Its too bad we don't have the spine of our forefathers and make learning English essential to becoming a functioning citizen of the U. S. Losing one common language that everyone in the coutnry spoke, regardless of how many other languages one spoke, promoted assimilation and unification.

I cannot adequately express my delight at this phenomenal opportunity. As someone who cannot speak English at all, it's amazing that I found this helpful tidbit while I was scrolling through a message board in a language I do not understand. What luck!

I always delight in American's speaking Spanish or any other language! It makes the world a better place!

about time.. this should be required for everyone. we should NOT have to 'press 1 for english' in this country
