Have you seen me? Help find stolen car? (3BMN555)

Original post made by Christopher Cabrall, Donlon Elementary School, on Feb 8, 2010

If you have a moment, please help me by reposting/replying to this posting; or any way you think you could spread the word. The Pleasanton Police said they would be relying on public support/call-ins as there is no way for staff to actively search on their own.
I've lived in Pleasanton my whole life since 1984, and never thought it would possible I'd be a victim there of grand theft auto
except perhaps in video games). I'm trying to appeal to any method I can think of to spread the word/my story/and of course the identifying information/photos about my stolen car. I've tried facebook, twitter, craigslist, my town's local newspaper, etc. and apologize for trying your time as well.

If you are shopping for such a car on craigslist buyer be wary!

check for some details to be sure you're not about to buy a stolen vehicle!
Please let me know of anything suspicious, leads, etc.

Gray/Purple 2 door acura integra (stolen 2/7/2010).
standard model, no modifications.

California license plate = 3BMN555; san jose sharks license plate holder.
Missing antenna. Broken, twisted front license plate holder (so no front license; unless this was repaired to disguise it)

Noticeable and identifiable severe damage/dent/broken between driver door and front left wheel, and so some exposed wires there.
Driver's door wouldn't open all the way.
Interior passenger door lock switch would not work (could only be locked from outside).
cup holder in center console was broken, flimsly hanging in there.
odometer approx 82,000 miles.

Please help me keep on eye out for it, the police think it would be parked/abandoned on a residential street or parking lot.
Will add VIN number, police report number soon if that would help.

looks just like this other person's (SEE PHOTOS!);
even in very similar condition! except for a couple small dents and the obvious damage between driver door and wheel mine had.

thank you,
-Chris

Also if responsible, feel free to return it and my laundry that was in it (I had 4 full bags of it!!!); no questions asked

(honestly, just leave it back in pleasanton near where you took it).

What year model is it? What part is purple, and what part is gray?

So Sorry this happened to you Chris, we will keep an eye out.

A few years ago we had an old, but loved, Toyota truck stolen from a parking lot in front of a Ptown auto repair shop.

We had given up on it when, two months later, we got a call from the Livermore PD. It was parked in a nice Livermore neighborhood. Kids had been using it, the seat was adjusted for someone short and there were teenage boys clothes in it. All of our belongings were still there, favorite catchers mask and glove, and car was in simular condition. Never caught the kids but still a good ending. I hope you have a good outcome as well.

THANK YOU EVERYONE, for your concern, sympathy and of course attention and vigilance.
I never, never would have suspected my car would be recovered so quickly.

Car was found and recovered in Hayward 2/8/10; (laundry was even still there, but unfortunately not washed or folded)

P.S. Oddly enough Nick, I also had a couple baseball gloves in the car (one of which was my dad's back from my little league years) Thankfully this stupid sentimental piece was also recovered!

Thank you, everybody, for recovering Chris' car so quickly. Salute yourselves, everyone, on a job very well done. Now to find the criminal and give the culprit a Moe job (Three Stooges numskull/knucklehead treatment - head/face slap, eye poke, etc), LOL!
