I agree with you. I rarely look at the forum anymore unless there is a link to a topic that looks interesting on the email page they send.

What's more troublesome is the lack of civility in the posts. People can have reasonable disagreements about issues without resorting to name calling and insults.

it's the immaturity of the social economy........... desperate times; attributes to online/hidden immature behavior. it's a shame.

I absolutely agree. When I post I add that only those that are registered can comment, as that gets rid of those that want to rant and be rude without anyone knowing who they are. Since then I don't have a problem on any postings. I suggest others do the same.

I agree with all of you so far. This is my first look at the Forum in about 2 weeks.

Seems to me we should eliminate anonymous posts...Anonymity in this forum seems to what gives rise to unkind, flame-throwing, name calling, posts that lack a sound arguement,lack anything substantive and take up everyone's time and much space...

I wholeheartedly agree with Dominic. It is time to remember what our grandmothers used to tell us, "if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all". Give it a try folks, it won't hurt.

I think anonymity serves a legitimate purpose (as already discussed on other threads regarding retribution).

I think charging a small annual fee for posting would clean these forums up in a hurry.

I admit that there are too many obvious subjects and remarks that have needed to be addressed, even in a hypocritical manner.

Sadly, as long as people continue to buy anything influenced or owned by Rupert Murdoch - TV, radio, books, newspapers, all media - we will keep reading, seeing, or hearing some of the most horrible remarks possible. Just look at FOX News' ratings, the NY Times Nonfiction bestseller's list, Limbaugh's actual number of listeners, and the number of hateful websites led by the likes of Rick Scott and other health care protesters. It doesn't say much about the people who continue to consider this hate-spewing 'entertainment'. If anything, we should be more suspicious of narrow-minded, lazy people like that. I for one wouldn't trust them with my lives. (I felt the same about the tree-protesters at Cal's Memorial Stadium.)

This group's orchestrated and bias against the concept of free press is plainly obvious. Interesting you selectively just want to silence Mudoc and certain of your neighbors..so closed minded. Our founders and early congressmen publicly fought often. I'm not a biased in trying to selectively silence. I just personally choose to not listen to Limbaugh, Olberman, Bech, Matthews, O'RRielly, Madow...I find them all to be equally offensive. The radical extremists on both sides are equally offensive and equally distructive. Common sense equally lacking in the above extremists....I guess that means the commenters are equally extremist, which is why you are trying to silence the commenters you disagree with. Free press just doesn't work like that !! Thankfully

the trouble with internet anonymity is that it gives certain people a false sense of bravado. they can make contentious or rude comments here that they would never dare say to anyone face to face.
